You have to wonder how truthful these guys are when they saying they feel great. Kind of like a fighter who doesn't want to admit an injury going into a fight knowing the other fighter will go after it.

Battier is bringing it. Gets a steal from Stack and Wright hits a short J to bring the Mavs lead back to one. Then of course Dallas gets another offensive rebound and stretches it back to three.

Sean Corbin just made a call and then turned to say something in the direction of Cuban's seats.

    Curious.

Gasol is back in the game. Goodie.

Terry hits a three, Dirk gets two more freebies, Memphis now trails 56-44. Miller hits a long J, so does Dirk. Nowitski gets hit with his second PF, Jones goes 1/2 at the line, Dirk rebounds but Stack throws it away. Diop picks up his third foul, Gasol scores the only way he can, at the line, as Dampier returns. Of course Pau misses the second FT. 58-48 1:19 left.

Damn, Grizz are a pretty good team on paper if you look at them. Didn't they end up #1 in the league in points allowed?

    Leading individuals:

    Dallas - Nowitski 19 pts (6/10 FG, 0/1 3FG, 7/8 FT), 5 Reb], Terry 9, Dampier 7 reb (5 off)
    Grizz - Jones 12 (3/4 FG, 2/2 3FG, 4/6 FT), Miller, Wright 7. Tsakalidis is the only Grizz with > 1 board (2).

Damp outrebounded the whole Memphis side playing only 12 minutes.

    Here's a clue, Memphis:

    D-E-S-I-R-E

    Get some.

Dallas has missed 20 shots and rebounded 12 of those. Tough to beat a team when it does that.

Memphis shooting 61% in the first half is keeping them around. If they can get on the glass and limit second chances, their inevitable cool down won't bury them.

It sounds like Pau is playing hurt?

    No Pau, no chance.

Grizz shooting 61% and losing. -18 RBs will kind of show up.

I think Atkins is trying to help Dallas win or either he just sucks that bad. He's starting to look like Nazr on rotations.

It is called good defense. Pau might be a step slow but all you do on Gasol is back off him and force him to shoot jumpers and be ready to contest. Pau never pumpfakes and that is stupid.

Atkins needs to take some lessons from Earl Boykins on how to play ball in the NBA when you're below 6'0.

The rebounding is what's killing them. Take away half of Dallas' second chances and Dallas is under 50 points for the half. Not great but better than 60!

wtf are you talking about. In four games Gasol averaged over 23 points against the Mavs. The injury you keep saying isn't hampering Duncan that much is likely why Gasol isn't putting his usual numbers up

Gasol sighting! Hits a 14-foot J and corrals a rebound. Of course Atkins misses a three after that.

Howard hits a J. Diop is called for his fourth PF with 10:41 left. I think Damp's doing a much better job tonight anyway ... he comes in for Diop.

Jones misses a three, Grizz get their SECOND offensive board and Atkins hits the finger roll. 62-55 10:06 3rd. Atkins fouls Dirk, dammit, and of course he hits 'em both. 64-55.

Battier gets sloppy, Griffin steals it, lays it in and one. 67-55.

Gasol misses, memphis off board, Gasol hits from 17, Griffin misses, Gasol misses again, Battier with another offensive board and the putback. 67-59.

Tsakalidis fouls guess who. Two more for Dirk, who spends more time at the free throw line than anyone in the WC not named Kobe. 69-59.

Jackson misses a three, Dirk rebounds, Pau steals it from Terry, slam dunk Pau!

Timeout Dallas. 69-61 with 7:50 remaining in the third.
