I'm pointing out that the Mavs owner has made himself visible and has become a celebrity of sorts. Most fans would rather have their owner show their passion for the team than worry about how much money they're making. It's good to have him on the sidelines, rooting for the team.

All teams send in calls they are unsure of. In fact, the NBA has a website set up specifically for this. The Mavs are not the only ones, and most teams do it every game, win or lose.
