Well then Dirk should get blocked several times a game. He fades away with players near him every night.
Like I said.... the stuff this guy say isnt worth arguring over, b/c he has no real basketball knowledge

Am I the only one that thinks it takes incredible amounts of wrist and forearm strength to make a block like that? Fading away has nothing to do with a guy trying to apply force by shooting a basketball in the opposite direction in which another individual (who is in the air and has no leverage) is trying to push it back... again, why not be excited over what is probably the game-changing performance of the game... I guess because Bowen didn't do a hybrid Shaq-Mike Bibby dance after this play (like Dirk did after the 3) is why no one should be excited....
Yeah.. I would change the subject if I was you too.
I thought the purpose of a fade-away was to avoid getting your shot blocked... that's what makes it a skillful and effective shot in the NBA... somebody please correct me if I'm wrong!!!
Not with players behind him.. If Dirk knew Bowen was that close to him he would have done the forward leaner.. which he repeatedly scores on Bowen with..
I just wanted to be clear what level of idiocy I was dealing with.
Did Dirk just think that Bowen dissapeared???
Team: Dallas Mavericks
Yeah.. if the defender is infront of you.. not behind you.. hahah
Wow.. I thought you guys were being intentionally obtuse just to get excited about something.. you actually don't know.. hahaha
No.. but he comepletely forgot about him.. which is why it was dirk's mistake and not even anykind of defensive play..
Bowen was to the side of him, you idiot!! Obviously your 3rd-place MVP candidate didn't even know where the defenders were on the floor in a late-game situation... just like he didn't know how much time was on the clock when he put up that pitful shot at the buzzer and tried to claim that he was held..
Btw, I was going with a by-the-book definition of a fadeaway and it's effectiveness against getting blocked... I'll start the "Dirk's number of awkward gyrations to draw attention/fouls to himself" thread next game.
ohh now I get it....after the pump-fake, in the time it took bruce to come back down, Dirk forgot about Bowen. Your points are all starting to make sense to me
Time to bust out the...

Behind and to the side.. the point is that Dirk faded right into Bowem..
Obviously your 3rd-place MVP candidate didn't even know where the defenders were on the floor in a late-game situation...
No he didn't.. and it was because of all the Spurs help defense.. because they also knew Bowen couldn't guard Dirk..
just like he didn't know how much time was on the clock when he put up that pitful shot at the buzzer and tried to claim that he was held..
So now you are denying this too? Both Parker and Bowen were holding Dirk.. and if not.. guess what.. game over.. This series should have been over in 4. Everyone knows it.. do't underestimate the referring of a champion..

Whatever.. go on celebrate the "incredible defensive play".. hahahaha talk about desperate..
It doesn't make sense that a player could make amistake at the end of a game? come on now.. how could Duncan not know the basket was 3 feet farther than he threw the ball at the end of game 4?
Dirk was not held on that final play with any significance... Now James Jones definitely was held by Luke Walton in the Lakers-Suns series and the Suns went down 3-1... But Dirk just made you think that the alleged jersey holds actually affected his shot because he's a huge pussy and can't make a 2 foot tap-in.
That "pussy" has swept your team.. if not for a whole lot of charity.. you must be really proud..
No, actually he lost 4-2 to my team last year when Nash owned your team... and then he split the season series this year with my team... still a pussy...
On Monday, Bowen was called for a bump, and Nowitzki sent the game to overtime with two free throws. This time, Nowitzki went up from about 17 feet out, with about seven seconds left, to eliminate the Spurs.
Bowen says he saw what was coming. He didn't try to beat Nowitzki to a spot, exactly. He instead lined up next to him.
"I knew where he would bring the ball back," Bowen said.
Bowen had seen Nowitzki shoot enough times; Nowitzki scored 31 points Wednesday. But this time, Bowen reached up, dangerously close to another whistle, and put his hand on top of the ball.
Afterward, he said getting all ball felt good, and there's a reason.
Bowen gets to try again Friday.

Dirk shoots 59 free throws in game 6. Book it.
The best part is that he'll sprain his ankle in the first quarter trying to draw a call, and then still get 50+ FTs from the locker room...
McClane, your schtick is tiresome. Take it back to your Mavs forum.
Thanks.
I love Bowen's defensive strategy.. "I let him go by me to the basket" haha
Brilliant defense..
Brilliant defense is knowing where Dirk was going to bring the ball... which he did...
