Heat cheerleaders won't be there, Ducks. Sorry to burst your bubble. But I got pretty close (no restraining order) to them at the All-Star Game in Houston this year. HIGH quality es. Little skanky, but still pretty solid. I'm an Orlando Dance Team man myself. Solid.

Wedding Crashers wins Best Picture. Gyllenhal wins Best Kiss. That chick from "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" wins Best Scream or something. e Lee gets an award for 'Do the Right Thing'. Now that you know what's going to happen, you can watch the Mavs! Aren't you happy I'm here for you?
    ..
Well I guess that takes care of the MTV movie awards for me..
But to be honest, I forgot all about it.

I don't think it's immature. If I happen to be off from work or have no other plans then I watch it, but I will not go out of my way to watch the game.
I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the fans that are saying even if they are sitting home doing nothing that they will refuse to watch it.

I am pretty sure curiosity will get the best of them and they will watch, they just don't want to admit it...since we are surrounded by the enemy

I've always been excited about the NBA Finals, except for the horrendous 2002 Lakers-Nets trouning. I loved the WCF that year, but everyone who knew anything about basketball knew that was a guaranteed sweep. I'm excited about this year's matchup though. It's a pretty compelling matchup: Shaq's Last Stand (?) versus the New Kid on the Block. I really like the Mavs players, and of course AJ... I can't stand Cuban though. I don't know who I hate more between him and Shaq... probably Shaq. Of course, I love Wade. This will be my first Finals I've ever not had a team to root for though.... I like and hate both teams at the same time.

    1985 Go Lakers ( Boston)
    1986 Go Rockets ( Boston)
    1987 Go Lakers ( Boston)
1988 Go Pistons (Isiah > Magic when I was a kid)
1989 Go Pistons (I wanted Isiah to get his first)
1990 Go Pistons (Isiah > Clyde)
    1991,92 Go Bulls (MJ >All)
1993 Go Suns (Barkley was my #2 guy, behind David)
1994, 95 Rockets (I hated Ewing, I liked Hakeem more than Shaq.. big Elie fan too since I saw him in Golden State)
    1996 Go Bulls
1997,98 Go Bulls, Malone die ringless
    99 Duh
00 Pacers (gotta pull for a Bruin to get his first ring)
    01 Philly (huge Iverson fan)
02 Lakers (sick of Kidd's overrated ass)
    03 Spurs
04 Pistons (I liked them, hoped Malone died ringless)
    05 Spurs
    06 ???

I'll watch it. It'll be fun seeing Shaq in the finals again.

i thought the Lakers fans didn't want Shaq to win ahead of Kobe? News last yr said they were actually happy Miami particularly Shaq lost to Detroit?

are you cheering for them now?

What day is it? Oh yeah Thursday....hmm I can't think of anything else worthwhile on regular tv, and since I don't have cable at the moment my only options are stare at a blank screen or watch the Finals, so I'll check it out if I'm home. Of course if game 1 sucks, I'll find something else to do on the other game days.

They're living vicariously through the eyes of the Lakers' old coach from one era, and their top dog from the most recent golden era.

I think that Lakers fans could possibly convince themselves that they are watching the Lakers.

I will be at home and wearing a white t-shirt.

All the Mavs trolls drove me nuts thus I am rooting for Miami!

White = Surrender...time for the the white hot heat to fizzle out!

haha, j/k, you SHOULD watch, I'd watch if it was Spurs/Heat and no doubt, I'd be rooting for the Heat as well...I don't think there's been a time when I don't watch, I love basketball too much.

I have a softball game tonight, and my DSO has a basketball game. We may watch the second half, but then my kids won't be home until tomorrow so I'm fairly certain there won't be a lot of TV being watched, period.

I've got a lot of work to do, so I'll probably be listening to it somewhat and checking the score online occasionally. I have no doubt that it will be a good matchup, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the refs let them play.

Man, I have no problem admiting I'm excited about it.

For one thing, I won't be yelling at the TV, so that will be good for my wife and baby.

It will be nice just to sit back and enjoy a Finals without having an emotional stake (I really don't care who wins, I just want to see both teams play their best).

I will be playing softball tonight so luckily I will miss game 1. In the end I would rather see Snaq and the Heat win over Cuban.. but with the ball bouncing the Mavs way I will be forced to hear for a yr how the Mavs are the champs.. thankfukky it will only be one year..

Tonights the night guys. Still time to come to the good side and support the Texas team....let's keep the le here. I'm all for Dallas/San Antonio rotating every other year and keeping the le in Texas....who knows maybe the Rockets will come back and we can have a 3 year rotation

LOL. It doesn't matter who I root for, it doesn't change the outcome of the game.

I mean, if Dallas wins, I'll be happy for AJ and Dirk, but I'm not going to Root for them, anymore than I'm going to root for Shaq.

lol @ mavfan thinking we should have any kind of allegiance to the mavs simply because they play in the same state as us.

I'm going for Heat either way. I hope they take game 1 by a landslide.

Yeah we know if the Heat win game 1 this series is clearly over. Not like the Mavs have lost Game 1 at home and come back to win....errr...ummmm

I'm not watching. Not interested and too busy. I may catch Game 7 if it goes that far. But by then I'll probably be too into the World Cup. Once the Spurs go, I go.
