    Wow...more of the same...
    Exactly what I said!

What does Vegas' odds of Sylvia / AA and Stevenson / Edwards have to do with MMA fans' opinions about who will win between Chuck / Silva???
Some girls, like you, will go with the crowd like sheep & not think for yourself.

I'm an MMA fan actually...I like Pride and UFC...
    Yeah, so do I.

No, actually...I was asking you if you were INFERRING by your statement...
    Refer, referring, referred, etc...

Matt Hughes had to do with anything??
If you are the expert u r trying to come off as then you'd know that MFS employs a ground based strategy & not just "boxing" like u think.

Yes, I was hunting for clips for 17 hrs...
    Figures.

Calling me a girl instead of trying to justify what you're saying??

    in·fer ( P ) Pronunciation Key (n-fûr)
    v. in·ferred, in·fer·ring, in·fers
To conclude from evidence or premises.
To reason from cir stance; surmise: We can infer that his motive in publishing the diary was less than honorable.
    To hint; imply.

It couldn't be any clear that my statement was correct...

"Sylvia has decent takedown defense, but NEVER had the intention of taking the fight to the ground in his gameplan (is that what you're inferring?"

ie, you were implying that Sylvia training with Matt Hughes was going to have any bearing on his gameplan, which NEVER has and NEVER will include GnP. Have you see the press conf from after the fights??? Probably not...

MFS doesn't employ a "ground based strategy"...their strategy is to cross train in all aspects of the sport (as any good camp does today). Of all of the MFS fighters, Sylvia is the LEAST LIKELY to ever go to the ground...

    Keep trying, holmes...

I'm suprised (not!) that such a knowledgeable person such as yourself had to look it up.

Now look up CONSENSUS & NOT concensus.
I've been alluding to that over & over & your vast knowledge of everything FAILED to catch that.

Oh great Master of Nothing, you should read up on Pat's background.
Psssst, here's a hint. The last name is spelled M-I-L-E-T-I-C-H.

Did you really just reply with "NOT!"

Great, so you admit that you were wrong about "infer / refer" I looked it up to shut you up, moron. You're obviously the one that needs a dictionary...

I hate to tell ya, but I spelled it "consensus" the first time...you responded incorrectly with "concensus"...

The consensus is that Pride is better overal...
    - correct

    The concensus according to whom?!?!?!?
    - whoops!!

If you want a "consensus"...try checking some MMA world rankings or take a poll on some MMA forums...
    - that's me making fun of you, dip ...

    Is that the concensus?
    - you TRYING to make fun of me about the spelling without realizing that I was making fun of you for spelling it wrong first

    Is that the concensus? Again?
    - again, you making fun despite the FACT that you spelled it wrong to begin with

but it's consensus around the MMA world by people that KNOW something about the sport.
    - I corrected it this time

What happened to the concensus??? ol
    - you STILL thinking that I spelled it wrong originally

I posted the concensus of MMA fans on Sherdog in the other thread and replied with betting lines for Sylvia and Stevenson...
    - so I spelled it wrong just for you one more time...maybe if I had put it in quotes for you you might've caught on? Probably not...

So who was wrong and who missed what? LMAO!!

Grammar, spelling, and MMA aren't your specialty, holmes...

It's amazing to me that you really believe you're right on some of this $hit...

    From the MFS website...
"Pat Miletich has a long history in sports and martial arts training. His credentials include all-state in wrestling and football, black-belts in Karate and Jiu-Jitsu, a U.S. Muay-Thai kickboxing le, undefeated in pro boxing, and is a five time World Professional Mixed Martial Arts Champion"

What about that isn't well-rounded? Was he a wrestler at one point? Of course...tons of MMA fighters were...

Again, Sylvia NEVER has and NEVER will intentionally take a fight to the ground for GnP...end of story...

Yeah, Pat nevvvvvvvvvver likes taking fights to the ground!

    Wow...

Where did I say that Miletich never too fights to the ground?? AGAIN, the fact that Sylvia is with MFS (and has Matt Hughes in his camp) has no bearing on his gameplan...

I wonder if Babalu beats Chuck if he'd get the shot vs Silva?
I don't think Babalu can beat Chuck. He'd have to get him to the ground, but with Chuck's sprawl he'd have to muscle him down, and I think Chuck is too strong for Babalu. So, it'll be Chuck/Silva - and Chuck will be picked apart into a thousand tiny pieces. I'd rather watch Fedor stomp Tim Sylvia into the ground anyday.

You better watch out..."Mr Dio" is going to tell you how you're so wrong and then back it up with non-MMA talk...

If Babalu was to win I wouldn't be surprised if o got a le shot with him in Feb...and Chuck/Silva still happened because everybody wants to see...

All I can say is Chuck better not look past Babalu...he's damn good and got caught with a freaky shin kick to the face in first matchup. The list of guys he's fought is pretty stout...and his only losses are to:

    Chuck (KO)
    Randleman (decision)
    Fedor!! (decision)
    Overeem (toe hold...lol)
    Henderson (decision)

    and he's beaten:
    Horn
    Prangley
    Shogun!
    Sonnen
    Van Arsdale

I realize some of these were under modified rules in other org's. He struggles with really good strikers but rarely gets beaten on the ground. Should be an awesome fight with Chuck...

Once again Lenora is @ home awaiting the start of band camp & posts her little guff online.
She is the know-it-all of MMA though right?

Des, it will be a good fight.
Glad to see I finally got an intelligent response.
Unless it ends prematurely(sarcasm). (Whatever the that means, like all fights are suppossed to go the distance & be decided by refs. Isn't that one of the main reasons why people are losing interest in boxing & starting to watch MMA?)

Granted, I'm not the Wizard of all MMA knowledge like someone is trying to come off as but I do think Babalu has a very good shot vs Chuck.
Babalu is no slouch standing up either.
I'd have to see what the odds are @ fight time & make up my mind on which way to go.

Or I could surf all the MMA boards & have other people make up my mind for me.

    Wow...

"desflood" posts that Silva will destroy Chuck and that Fedor would destroy Sylvia and you say "finally got an intelligent response"...

I completely agree with "desflood"...just a little more concerned that Babalu upsets Chuck than he is...

I'm not trying to come off as the "wizard" of MMA. Anybody that follows the sport could shoot down the MMA points you've tried to make...

Sylvia on the ground, GnP, etc
    CroCop not impressive
Silva has moved up to "top comp" now by coming to the UFC
    etc etc

Look at the context of Des' post. Done in a mature fashion. Supports an opinion WITHOUT bashing another's. Just gives an opinion.
For instance, I thought Joe S would beat YE (which DID happen). Others didn't think so but the trash was kept to a minimum. Nothing got blown up & no one got huffy & posted senseless guff.

You mean you want me to post something that will change your mind?
I could care less if you change your mind or not on areas where we have diff opinions.
Do you think you could change mine with irrefutable FACTS & not just opinion?

Any reasonable prudent adult knows that the argument of who is the best of this, that & the other thing can be best resolved by head-to-head comp.

When someone has an opinion other than what you think it should be you tend to get huffy. Besides, it's clearly evident Silva is someone that you come pretty close to dare I say, worshipping.

Like I said, head-to-head as proven to be the remedy. Til that happens, it'll always blah blah blah, will destroy blah blah blah, is a better blah blah blah.

Of course head to head is better...prior to UFC 61, most of the good matchups didn't look like they'd ever happen. Now we'll get to see them though...

I certainly don't "worship" Silva...I just think that US MMA fans are in for a rude awakening when some of these Pride guys start coming over. Chuck has a chance...but NONE of the HW's do, not against the top Pride HW's anyway. Sylvia could possibly beat someone like Fujita...

But in the mean time, I'm curious to know why you're not impressed with CroCop?

Cro-cop is big, he's strong, he's intelligent, he's got a acious kick... and that's about it. A bit of a one-dimensional fighter. His ground game needs work and his punches can be sloppy at times, unless he's improved greatly since the last I saw of him.

I saw him fight within the past 2 wks or so on FSN & also once since the new yr. He didn't dominate like the hype I'd read on him. Unsure if they were reruns or not but I do think the recent FSN broadcast went the distance & IMO was a little boring.

lol all this talk about babalu beating liddell is funny..so many guys have come out and tried to take liddell to the groud and finish him with the ground and pound and it hasn't worked to well in the last year or two and he won't make a difference..liddell by knock out..

I guess we should be discussing all of the Spurs stellar off-season moves instead???

    6'2", 215 is small for a HW...

He's extremely tough to take down and his ground game is improved (but still not a strength)...

When's the last time you saw him?

His 2 fights this year have been:

Yoshida, Verbal Submission (Leg Kicks), Rd 1, 7:38
    http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.ph...5803C30F4581C8

Minowa TKO (Strikes), Rd 1, 1:10 (not even a fight)

Both of those fights were pretty dominant by CroCop. Yoshida ended up with a torn knee ligament and broken leg due to CroCop's leg kicks (with his weak leg because he was fighting with a left leg injury).

Who did he fight that went to a decision?? Fedor? Hunt?
