Wow... don't I feel like a ty tipper... I've been going to the same barber for about 19 of my 21 years. Ever since I was little my father would always tip the barber a dollar... and I just learned from him and did the same... I can't explain it because it's a first name basis all around and we're good friends with all the barbers there. My father and my grandfather having been going there for at least 30 years... guess I should adjust for inflation : /

Haircuts are really important for me.

I used to get them at Fantastic Sams, and paid about $15 including tips. But it wasn't all that great, and they always seemed like they were in a hurry to get to the next guy. I recently found this barber who will do me at his apartment, and I end up giving him 20 for cuts but I do it gladly b/c he takes his sweet time doing it and I leave happy with how he's done it.




So, moral of the story...become a barber in my neighborhood.

And to answer your post, that's great your mom was a waiter. Tipping more than 5-10 bucks is just re ed. Unless it's some really upscale restaurant...which wouldn't apply because they include gratuity.

and please IF YOU DO ever go to one of these resturants PLEEEEEASE tell me what the percentage of the gratuity is.....15 +.....

I get my haircut at that place at Crossroads Mall next to Burlington with that asian family. I tip like 3 on a 10 dollar haircut. I don't know what the I'm doing when it comes to hair tipping.

If you're a bad tipper, you will be remembered and when you come back, the service will suck and you probably don't want to know what they do to the food.

Finally someone mentioned it. I could never be so stupid & naive to tip more than 10%-ish when service is bad. Many Service Industry people (Bartenders/Servers) think they are due a tip no matter how bad their service is. I can go into a place in my typical shorts & tshirt & have some bimbo/himbo treat their regulars like royalty & chat for 10min before walking over to take my order like they were walking to the electric chair. IF a person treats me right they get at least 20%. If my bill is $20-30 & I've ate/drank quite a bit & they did me right they're getting much more than 20%.

They're waiting about 4-5 tables an hour, you think they deserve like $50+ an hour just for refilling your drinks and carrying a tray? Damn...I should drop out and work at Zios.

those people are making probably $2.35 an hour. try waiting tables sometime, asshole. putting up with waiting on people like you makes life . leaving a good tip can make someone's day, i learned that from my fiancee. she outraeously overtips because she knows from experience how it makes someone feel when they get stiffed.
