Or just let him dunk when his slow ass has beaten you down the floor.
These are the same fans who were shocked by there player being suspended after throwing a punch.
Not a big deal. Brickhouse was hurting the team more last game than helping them. I'd rather have Harris playing anyways.
What? Do I see Mavs fans whining? Incredible.
I don't have a replay of the video, but at the time it happened I was surprised Stack wasn't ejected from the game, and I fully expected him to be suspended. Why? Because it looked to me like he elbowed Shaq above the shoulders and the league has been pretty clear that is an automatic suspension, regardless of how much damage it actually does to the player.
Maybe I am wrong and he didn't...but the angle they showed last night, it definitely looked like Stack's elbow made contact above Shaq's shoulders, deliberately. Same thing Artest was suspended for.
Personally...I don't think Stackhouse was that out of line, since Shaq busted his nose pretty good. Shaq's always been able to get away with hard fouls like that because he is so massive, he can inflict a lot of damage without even looking like he is trying to do it. Just a shrug of his arm can put somebody down.
So, I don't really have a problem with what Stack did as far as being a thug or anything...at the same time, it wasn't a smart play and the league has been consistent throughout the playoffs about handing out suspensions. Closed fist to someone or deliberate contact above the shoulders = suspension. Stack got his payback...and the league continued it's by the book stance on certain types of contact.

DIRTY MAVS

they do this http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/137...ckhouse2vs.jpg
they kill howard when he was a spur and he does not play another game as a spur after that
aj is a piece of that needs to control his players
Get ready to hear them ing about this all offseason. Hope you guys have your fishing spot picked out.
I didn't know they showed ESPN radio on t.v.
Sort of a strange concept.
LMAO. I don't think Stackhouse should have been suspended, but on the other hand the man has been nothing but a guaranteed up his whole career. Why stop now?
DALLAS’ STACKHOUSE SUSPENDED ONE GAME
NEW YORK, June 16, 2006 – Jerry Stackhouse of the Dallas Mavericks has been
suspended one game without pay for making unnecessary and excessive contact
with Shaquille O’Neal of the Miami Heat during Game 4 of the 2006 NBA Finals, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President Basketball Operations.
“The contact by Jerry Stackhouse was clearly excessive and warrants a suspension,” Jackson said.
The foul, which was upgraded to a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two, occurred with 6:29 remaining in the third quarter of the Mavericks’ 98-74 loss to the Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena on June 15.

Report: Stackhouse suspended for whack on Shaq
Avery Johnson said on ESPN 103.3 FM today that Jerry Stackhouse has been suspended for Game 5 for his flagrant foul on Shaquille O'Neal last night.
Earlier today, Johnson said he didn't think a suspension was warranted.
"If that's a suspension, they will have to go back and review everything that has happened throughout the playoffs," he said. "There may have to be some retribution or something and maybe go suspend some other players they forgot."
Hey, the reason the Mavs are in the Finals at all is because they got the rules changed to penalize teams that play tough defense. Be careful what you ask for!!
Got any tips on hot spots you've found over the past few weeks??![]()
Mavs will be fine...![]()
Not really.
I'm kind of new at this. I was hoping you guys could refer me to the one you always go to the past couple of years?
THANK YOU....
The lakes are too low for my hot spots to be near the water...![]()
Isn't it beautiful? Cuban exceeds even his own lofty standards of assholishness on Letterman by talking about Riley's "thuggish" play, and the next night he has to eat it because of one of his own players decides to turn back the clock.
Little do the Heat know that the Stackhouse suspensions might've just won the mavs the series. Stackhouse was 7-27 the last 2 games and was the worst player on the court.
I would expect the Mavs fans to think the suspension was B.S. However, you have to admit that if Dirk had been hit the same way, they would have been crying for a suspension for on the Heat player. Safe to say that if that had been Posey or some other nobody, the suspension may not have happened. The right call was made and the suspension was justified. Gotta protect the stars.
no, not even close, Shaq was going for a dunk and Stack had a hard NBA foul. Bavetta called it flagrant 1, that shoulda been the end of it. Posey creamed somebody in the middle of the court. That's a huge difference.
What exactly did Cuban change that deal with flagrant 1's and 2's...suspensions, etc???
His main beef over the years has been all of the hand and body checking that slows the game down...
It will go down as one of my favorite fouls of all time on shaq...
Thnx Stack for the moment...........
Not that much worse than Dirk's 11-for-35 or whatever in the last two games.
Don't forget about his "clutch" ft shooting in game 3
