    True. They are tired of fat, injured Tinsley.

    Meanwhile the Mavs keep their team in tact to start their DYNASTY
    That's true -- the Mavs are off to a good start if they're looking to build the greatest playoff collapse dynasty EVAR!

    What about starting Johnson? He looked pretty good in the playoffs.

    Would Pollard + Evans + Javtokas suck that much?

    It might not be so bad if the Spurs had a bigman by committee up front with TD.

    Even with Bonner and no Evans I think it would be workable, especially if we sign someone like Jumaine Jones that gives us better-than-average rebounding at the 3.

    I'd rather they spent $ on a backup point and backup small forward.

    Exactly. If we can move Barry for Pollard and land some genuine perimeter help, I'd call that a pretty decent offseason.

    so right now, in the southwest division we have Dirk, Gasol, Peja and Tmac. Someone needs to call Jeffries agent yesterday and get a deal done or we'll have trouble matching up with every team in our division.

    If he'll sign for that, sure.

    But he's coming off making $6 million a year (though for that he was overpaid), and I doubt we can get him for less than $2.5-3M/year, and he might cost more. I think he'd laugh at the minimum.

    OK, I see where this is going. Let's not be coy:

    Spurs trade:
    * Brent Barry ($5.1)
    * Beno Udrih ($1.0)

    Spurs receive:
    * Stephen Jackson ($6.1)

    Larry Bird trades:
    * Black guy ($6.1)

    Larry Bird receives:
    * Two white guys ($6.1)

    Pollard is a FA.

    Dudes in the nba for one reason, he's 7 feet tall. He's 31 and gets injuried alot if he wants 3 million a year F that i'd rather have some undrafted rookie. If 4 million is too much for Scola how is 3 million a good deal for Pollard?
