Time to change how we spell wurdz?

I constantly haveto tell myself to spell Saturday like this <----- instead of Saterday.

I keep reminding myself of Saturn and all that myth.


Really the days of the week should be numbered. 1-5 and then fun1 and fun2.

Instead of changing the SPELLINGS of words to be phonetic, why don't we keep the words spelled as they are, but PRONOUNCE them phonetically???

"Yesterday was Wed-nes-day."

Damn, those are tongue-twisters if we try to phonetically pronounce some of those words...

1Parker1 - the place we are trying to buy is on Wednesbury Lane. It runs into the same dilemma and I've heard it pronounced three different ways.

I think there is room for language to change and grow, but I don't think a wholesale revision of the spellings which, in essence, dumbs it down 'for the kids' is a bright idea.

when Emno took a trip to New York with bunch of fellow texans... they were looking at a map and the place they needed to go was on Houston st.
They asked alot of passerby's th quickest way to Houston st .

noone knew what the they were talking about. apparently they pronounce it house - ton st. .
