Yea - I feel so much better that Dallas was owned and another team is better then a team which have beaten the spurs.

Updates on Day 2 of LV Summer League

It looks like Sharrod Ford is doing well. Maybe we should sign him for the training camp if he's available.

The New York Knicks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, 95-71, behind a 19-0 second quarter run that broke the game open for the Knicks. The Knicks held the Cavaliers without a field goal for over eight minutes in the second quarter as they went from trailing 24-32 to a 43-32 advantage.
The Knicks three first-round draft picks from last season combined for 62 of the 95 Knicks points. Nate Robinson led the Knicks in scoring with a game-high 23 points (5-11 FG, 10-13 FT), David Lee chipped in 20 points (7-8 FG, 6-6 FT) and eight rebounds, while Channing Frye added 19 points (8-17 FG) and five rebounds. Rookie Renaldo Balkman had six points (2-3 FG) and four rebounds in his Knick debut before leaving the game at the 6:30 mark of the third quarter after rolling his left ankle.
Sasha Pavlovic led the Cavaliers in scoring with 20 points (6-16 FG, 7-10 FT). Sharrod Ford had 18 points (5-11 FG) and eight rebounds, while Martynas Andriuskevivius pitched in 10 points (3-6 FG).
The Knicks finished the game shooting 49 percent (31-63 FG), while the Cavs shot 43 percent (31-63 FG). The Knicks forced the Cavs into 15 turnovers, resulting in a 22-5 advantage in points off of turnovers.
I saw on the news that the San Antonio Silver Stars owned Houston by 20 tonight.... and as we all know, any time a San Antonio team owns a team from Houston, it's a good thing.
Some of us go way back with Houston teams (Billy Paultz, Ice and Jimmy Si Spurs versus Rockets' Robert Reid...the Hakeem v. David duels of the 90s....yes and don't forget the Iguanas v. Aeroswith some great fights even between fans down at the Joe & Harry Freeman).
You know, the preseason doesn't matter. But the PRE-preseason?
lol, yeah. Too bad the Rampage suck major ass now.
this is spurs related? how?
Ford was in training camp last season.
Worst thread ever?![]()
As far as points go, both John Lucas and Jose Juan Barrea have been the stand-outs, even dominant. I don't know if the Spurs are committed to CJ Watson or not.
Yeah who woulda thunk it?

I still haven't seen him. It sounds like he's a Jameer Nelson type maybe - who also dominated the ball in college but turned it around in the pros.
All the players that are playing in NBA, college or High school or in NBDL can play for the spurs in the future....
summer league is indicative of pretty much nothing and fairly worthless. they are barely controlled scrimmages.
They can show the general worth of a player against similar talent, same as any NCAA, NBDL or Euroleague game. Does the player shrink and get scared when he goes against Amare Stoudamire? Does he jack up every shot? Does he look like he knows what he's doing?
Summer league can be invaluable.
Not sure how important Summer League is for high draft picks and such.
LeBron sucked dog nuts in his Summer League play.
Kings have signed Amundson.
And it sucks for Spurs not to have a team as Las Vegas.
Las Vegas is the first summer league and best undrafted players sign contract if they played well with their team.
At Denver we have only the second choice.
We don't have to have a team there to sign guys we like.
They signed him because he was doing great with their SL team.
Guys you like receive a SL invitation, not a training camp contract.
Las Vegas is the first SL (if you don't convince teams you can still try next SL) and the biggest one (most exposure), best undrafted players want to play here.
When an undrafted player is doing great in SL, he receives an offer from the team for who he plays.
Spurs don't have a team in Las Vegas. Either they sign a player to a training camp contract before LV (before seing what the player will do in SL), either they have only players who wasn't great in LV.
It sucks not to have a team in LV.
Absolutely! Do ya think teams make all their prospects and deep bench players participate in the summer league (then scout the games heavily) just to have something to do in the offseason?![]()
The article I read said he signed the deal shortly after the draft, not after any games.Whatever the first SL is, I'd prefer to be there. Still there's little value unless they are on our own SL team.It sucks not to have a team in LV.
