What I meant to say is:

+ I don't think we have any assets we're willing to give up for him, that they want.
+ We can't afford that contract.
+ I doubt they cut him and let him walk with 73 mill. That would be utterly stupid.

I didn't know K-Mart had the microfracture surgery. Has anyone made a decent comeback from that procedure?

The current core players have at least one championship left in it. Gambling on K-mart could cost us that one championship. But if it works out, it could bring San Antonio more than one.

He was a beast as a Net.

They wont cut him. The way i see it, only 1 of 3 things will likely happen

1.) He gets traded for an exp contract and nothing else

2.) He suddenly wakes up and gets it together with GK and the team, gets healthier during the offseason and plays with a chip on his shoulder. A highly unlikely scenario but maybe he will get inline

3.) Things get worse, he warms the bench for the season or ends up like Artest and gets suspended indefinately by the team until they can find a team who suddenly decides to trade their crap for him

someone will wind up unhappy in Denver, so it may as well continue to be Kmart. He will be backing up Nene and he better suck it up.

Its too bad Melo cant play SG coz an experiment could be a Dre/Melo/K/Nene/Camby lineup. The Nuggets would of course still be one of the worst shooting team in the NBA if that happened

Jason Kidd somewhat, although he's not what he used to be athletically. I did a bunch of research on that a couple of months ago. That injury/surgery ends or s up careers-C-Webb, Allan Houston, Penny, Mashburn, all had it and were never the same. Amare will be lucky to be 85% of what he used to be. If he does come back 100% he will be the first person ever to do that, most guys lose a lot and a lot have chronic knee problems afterwards.

Okay, let's get this straight, Martin (I refuse to use any familiar names with this wanker) is a shadow of his former self. Even when he was supposedly a moster back in 2003, we showed him up for the fraud he is.

    All bark, no bite.

Back to the Karl doghouse for you, overpaid wretch!

    HE HE

I will become a Kings fan if the Spurs sign Kenyon Martin. He is my least favorite player in the league besides Juwan Howard.

Its utterly tragic the turn Kenyon's image has turned since college. What a disaster. Textbook career image suicide. He went from national player of the year, humble origins, super hard working college superstar to a downward spiraling negative, selfish, mean spirited NBA baller. Terrific.

And he and I share the same alma mater. Now if I crack him hard, you can imagine everyone else!

Having said that, I do know for a fact that Kenyon is a big fan of Tim Duncan. I actually think that given the chance he'd probably behave (at least for some time) in San Antonio and would be a surprise. However, I think he's burned too many bridges around the league and his image is just in the toilet. Plus, salary issues, contract etc. Ain't happenin.

kmart in SA would be a great thing. I'm not a fan of him either, but I know he does have talent. He would be the best option at this time.

Unproven euros are not what they need to start the season. Bring them off the bench, Kmart can tear it up when he wants. He just needs to be a fourth offensive option.

    Parker, Ginobili, Bowen, Duncan, KMart

That is a sick lineup. You know what you hear all about "swagger"? Spurs didn't have it this year, perhaps Kmart can bring that. This team doesn't have a lot of time left to compete for a ring so they need to get a proven all-star calibur player to help out.

Well, the only thing I see is that Denver needs shooting... Barry can provide that, along with Williams you have a nice package (I don't know if that is enough)...

There are a lot of reasons why I don' want him here but I could IMAGINE that the Spurs migh be interested in him if he is HEALTHY (which I doubt). He brings thoughness, rebounding and some offensive skills if he is 100%... He would help them, no question but health and money might be the issue here... I highly doubt it will happen...

    only if denver cut him
and spurs uses the vet min on him and that would be to much
Ducks, you normally make me laugh and usually you make sense, but to say that the vet min is excessive for a player of his caliber is well, excessive. He'd never come for that little, he'd be a fool to. With that said, we should be able to offer more, because he'd deserve it.

I'm scared at the idea of having the "bad guy" Martin for the "good guy" Barry...
However, if a trade happens, it will be after august 21...when willams (and bonner) can be trade in a package.
Possibility are : barry, williams and bonner/oberto for him.-

The Spurs simply cannot carry four large contracts with Duncan (~$20M), Parker (~$11M), Ginobili (~$10M) plus Kenyon Martin.

Those contracts together get you around $50M alone.

Denver would be very happy to do a Barry, Williams for KMart as a salary dump. They really don't have options.

They'd be exstatic. They'd get a shooter and dump an unbelievable contract for a player who may not be worth a third of it.

They could easily ship us some money if they are eager to get rid of him, like in the Raptor/Bucks trade.

I say pick him up. You don't get a stat line like 3-23 if you're some sissy who's scared to shoot the ball. We need a guy with some guts on the front line! We finally got rid of out two "soft" centers so this guy is the perfect fit for the new look Spurs.

Maybe the Spurs could get Corliss Williamson and Kenny Thomas too. They could then pick Malik back up and we'd have the "All-Tweener Team" to compliment the team's new commitment to small ball.

o McFly. We are not going to truly get where we want to be until we bring back the all time best shooting guard with the spurs. Alfrederick Hughes.
