This whole thing with the ex-"Katy on 6th" keeps reminding of the classic who's on first bit. If you're young and haven't seen it don't turn it off the minute you see it's B&W. I'm 28 and was surprised how funny it was and is every time I see it.

I'm partial to The Library, Friends, and Logan's.
logans = frat central. ugh. i used to go to the library when it first opened in 98-99 and they had $2 long islands on thursday. i haven't hung out there in a while, the youngsters are too much for me these days. if i go, i usually pop in buffalo billiards with my friends. if wish katie blooms was still open. when i go downtown i usually head to either the ginger man, b-sides or any of the more mellow less crowded places, or wherever my friend's band is playing. i am headed downtown on friday to see ACD at beerland. ACD puts on a high energy show, i really recommend seeing them. it's off 6th, but i also don't mind the jackelope since they don't allow smoking anymore.
The Library is good for their drink specials, they still have $2 long islands and $2 wells until 11pm. That was always our 1st stop. My friends and I kind of got tired of the 6th st scene so we started going to the bars on 5th st. I've had the most delicious drinks at the Apple Bar. I also like Foundation and the Whiskey Bar is probably my favorite.
Does ACD stand for something? I can't find them online.
Oh and haven't they banned smoking in all bars in Austin? I'm pretty sure not all of them enforce it but the last time I was at The Library they asked my friends not to smoke.
