Part of the reason for difficulty in finding father-son combos today is because the men playing the dads are actually the right age to be the dads and they look their age-- as opposed to the moms often on TV shows who aren't the actual right age.

For example-

Phylicia Rashad is only 10 years older than Sabrina Le Beauf- the oldest daughter on Cosby.

Meredith Baxter is only 14 years older than Michael J Fox but played his mom.

Lauren Graham (whose character was supposed to be 16 when her daughter was born) is only 14 years older than Alexis Bledel.

Even Katey Segal is only 15 years older than Christina Applegate.

Then the mother/daughter combo of George Lopez is not a very accurate portrayal of the Hispanic family. The mom is ONLY about 20 years older than the daughter. Pregnant at 14 would've have been more realistic.
