Ads on forums suck. I have tried avoiding having them. The cost of running this forum is pretty high because of the amount of traffic it has to be on a dedicated server, etc. We allow members to contribute from time to time and other stuff, but we aren't going to put ads all over it just to make some money. If we did though, then I wouldn't even be allowed to say things like " " on my own forum, but we would be making money.

I know you weren't around, but we were offered six figures last season to sell it to a big company that was making a sports network of websites and we turned it down. It's something we built from the ground up in the last three years and it's hard for me to sell out by cluttering it with ads and having it be really moderated .. or by just selling it all together.

I think Kori is my new favorite person ever. You have to respect turning down that much money.........well, I think you have to respect it anyway.

That'd kind of be like banning fine wine, if you ask me.
It's amazing how Hill Country Fare white vinegar off the shelf thinks it's an expensive Cabernet.

    San Antonio is like that.

Kori and the rest of people who run this place rock. Not trying to suck up, but that is just what I think.

BUZZKILL is right, this is the busiest political forum in TX.

102,000 posts in about 2 years comes out to ~140 posts per day and I know we have been doing more than that lately with the mid-terms coming up, so thanks to everybody for taking the time to share your opinions at Spurs Talk.

Are you implying that I'm from another site? If so, then 9/11 was planned by the United States, there were at least a dozen gunmen shooting at JFK, Jimmy Hoffa is buried under Giants stadium, we never landed on the moon, and AIDS was a deliberate creation of mad doctors trying to make lots and lots of money.

Point is, don't be an idiot.

Ok, it took me a while to figure out what the you meant by this. I "quoted" you just to piggyback on your compliment to Kori. I wasn't referring to you personally. The posters I'm referring to were former members of KingsFans.com who were banned and migrated here. I guessing you weren't among them since you're a Nugs fan.

    Agreed, I mis-understood, my fault. I apologize.

Although i don't always agree with Chump, I think he does a decent job moderating this forum, and is a pretty intelligent poster (in his twisted left-wing way ).

I don't get why Yoni, who I also don't agree with most of the time and is also an intelligent poster (in his twisted right-wing way ), is so pissed off with chump.

You guys should work your differences out and continue having interesting political discussions.

NOW as long as we can all agree that boutons_ doesn't get handed the moderator arm band... we will all be in agreement.

thats because you've been here since 2001. The ratio spreads all posts along that span of time. How long has the political forum been around?

About 2 years, give or take a few months. None-the-less, the forum used to have about 10 regular posters and a few lurkers in its first few months, now it's like 20-25 regular posters and more than a few daily lurkers.

well, whoever would have bought the site would have been pissed...because as soon as mods actually had to moderate everyone would have left

Kori and LJ should have sold ST.com and what Clan is saying would've been the most likely outcome.

Then Kori and LJ start Spurschat.com, or Spursgossip.com, or Spurschitchat.com, or even Hablemosdelosspurs.com, and we all move to this new site.

Win-win for all (The Ellis have more money and we all have the same site with a different name) . . .

Well, the only ones who lose are the hypothetical new owners of ST.com

Most sales like that involve an agreement that you will not open a new site for a certain amount of time.
