Now everybody knows
No he doesn't.
Selling stolen VCRs or directing people to an alley where somebody sells stolen VCRs is pretty much the same thing. You are part of the distribution of stolen items.
As for other webmaster credentials. You can't lose what you don't have. Kori HAS a press pass.
And finally. It's her forum, she's running it and se made it her wish=the law, you don't like it? tough!
Now everybody knows
New users - and most of the old ones too - will have the link removed from their post and the rule will be explained to them. It has happened many times already. They won't be banned and their post will not be otherwise edited or deleted.
The problem is when people like in this thread that have been part of the forum for years and are familar wiht this rule do it anyway.
Now to get back to the original topic:

You Tube has been asked by the NBA to remove all their NBA video as well. Expect there to be a lawsuit if they don't comply.
You have never been allowed to post NBA video or any links to NBA video here. It's not just about press credentials. The NBA can report you to your server company for distributing unauthorized video, etc. It's just a huge hassle I'd rather not get involved in.
New posters are warned and told not to do it. No big deal.
If posters continue to do it and already know the rule, then that's a problem to me.
How many nicks has Mouse poster under in this thread?
I say at leat 7.
I don't like the backdoor linking with the screencap. I can see the NBA's not liking it too, but since Kori is up, she can decide whether it stays.
You're close. I guess it's his way of manufacturing support for whatever crusade he's apparently on.
You couldn't hold dizzg's jockstrap. Don't be a puss.
It's pretty obvious when it's him. I counted 8.
Eh, you're right. It's just a screencap.
all fans should get press passes, losing one should be no big deal. The NBA should relax and let people watch on youtube. These rules are crazy. Watching youtube just creates more nba fans and don't hurt anyone.
The NBA is working on their own digital archive. Right now they sell game video through Google, the owners of YouTube.all fans should get press passes, losing one should be no big deal.I think the locker room might be a little too crowded after games if that happened.
I agree, it does create more nba fans. The whole sports scene is ed.
Now MFL is on ESPN which imo sucks.
NFL Network will be taking over.
The Golf Channel.
Nascar.
NBA League Pass...
blah blah blah.....
Control.
em.
I got question, what if you go to the game and record some footage, then can you show it here or is it still breaking the rule.
wow. i really didn't think this thread would still be going what with the whole point of the thread removed.
Breaking the rule. You cannot post ANY NBA VIDEO or links to ANY NBA VIDEO.
And you can't shoot footage at NBA games. If they catch you, they'll throw you out of the arena.
Wow, that's pretty hardcore. Thumbs down for the NBA for being so stingy.
Thumbs down to the NBA for not selling LP outside the US at reasonable prices.
I thought you lived in NY.
What's the price on League Pass anyway. I'm too cheap to get it even if it is 20 bucks a month.
Ehhh... You guys are making WAY too big a deal out of this, nothing would ever, and I repeat EVER come out of it, especially youtube clips... but I mean, it's your site Kori, so I'll respect it, no doubt.
Suggestion...
post links like this...
h**p://www.youtube.com/etc.etc....
that way there is no direct link, and if the user wants to see the link, they're gonna have to type it in themselves
Yeah you think that nothing would ever come out of it, except for 2 years ago another Spurs site lost their press credentials and another NBA site got shut down by their server company for repeatedly posting the NBA video. And at that time, someone from the NBA asked me that we don't do it. So please don't keep talking about stuff you don't know anything about.
So keep your stupid suggestions on how to bend the rules to yourself.
Uhhh... I'm just tryin to help....
Posting links the way I suggested will keep everyone out of trouble. I have other suggestions, but it seems you're not interested, so I won't waste my time.
but like I said, I'll respect the rule, it ain't botherin me, just tryin to help everybody else out.
and I know plenty... thank you
You still aren't getting it. People from the NBA read the site. So sitting here and making up ways to go around actually posting the link is stupid. It would still be the same thing.
It's illegal to share, distribute, copy, post, whatever any copyrighted NBA video.
The league has asked us not to do it. So don't do it.
