Are you too going to criticize his shot selection ?

"1 down, 1 to go." -Arenas
He's a great, great shooter, but in no way is he a team player. Hard to respect the great game he had when he says selfish stuff like that...

Nah, I've been heaping praise on the guy all night. I just can't imagine a Duncan or a Nash or even a Nowitzki saying something like that.
And on that subject, I think Arenas takes better shots than Kobe does. Not that it matters much, they're both cut from the same mold.
Arenas - 54 points, 21/37 FG
Nash - 42 points, 12 assists, 14/25 FG
Marion - 28 points, 13 rebounds
Suns missed 30 3-pointers tonight. They had 34 assists to the Wizards' 14. Both teams took more than 100 shots.
I missed it b/c I was on Xbox Live, but it's re-airing on ESPN now, so I get to see it.![]()
Would have been a blowout if the 3's were going in.....
The Wizards are the best at stopping long winning streaks in the league![]()
One of the most exciting 4th quarters I've seen all season. I haven't seen the crowd get into it like that since the Barkley era. Really sad that a game that great had to end in a loss... had they just knocked in some of those open jumpers...
Good to see Suns fans still clueless as ever...glad it was "exciting" for ya. How about playing some defense lol. Fools gold my man....can't win in the playoffs playing this way. So sad that the Suns never learn.....
i dont know but their streak is over!!!
Gil's the man. He's had 50 and 60 point games in the same week. With his great work ethic and what he's been through, he deserves his success. I'm happy for him. He may be strange or quirkly but you can't say he isn't a great player. Gil for MVP!!![]()
Not a suns fan but please shut the up!!!
LoL its realli crazy man
Arenas paid back d'Antoni for cutting him from the Olympic squad, breaking Phx's franchise record streak before d'Antoni's home crowd
What a ! This coming from a kid with a user name like Amarelooms. You lost in life KILL YOURSELF!!!!
Let's see...
1. His team won.
2. He got his while contributing to his team winning.
There was nothing selfish about what he did, it's called motivation.
Personally I thought it was great that he gave a metaphorical middle finger to Colangelo and D'Antoni with an offensive explosion.
Pretty ironic considering both of those clowns built Team USA around offense and still lost in the worlds because they treated defense like a four letter word.
His preseason and postgame quotes made it pretty clear that he was more motivated to drop a certain number of points on the Suns than to actually beat them. I'm sure the win was just icing on the cake.
This is a pointless argument, though. I like Gilbert Arenas a lot, but his Kobe-esque postgame quotes just rubbed me the wrong way, and Kobe's a piece of . :p
Also, you contradict yourself: It's good that he gave the metaphorical middle finger to D'Antoni and Colangelo, but they're clowns for making the team offensive and not defensive enough. Wouldn't inviting a player who does little more than score like crazy be counterproductive, then?
You're a re - Gilbert was making some amazing shots in that game (and the clincher was a contested, bank-in 3, you jackass) - where they gave up the defensive slack was on Caron Butler in OT... I'll give them that because they got to the game 2 hours before tip-off after being marooned in Denver for so long.
If the most pampered team in the league (aka Dallas) ever had to do that, your excuses would fill up a whole thread and Cuban would be writing to the league and attaching videos for every play where the Mavs showed fatigue.
I just gave both teams some props for putting on a great show and lamented that it ended in a Suns' loss. Defense is what got them back into the game in the first place after being down since the middle of the 2nd quarter. What do the Mavs do in the face of adversity? Oh, yeah - lose 4 straight in the Finals.
This might not be a good point, considering the opponent, but the Suns held the Blazers to a season-low 32 pts in the first half... They suck, but I'm sure they've played better defensive teams, so that's not a bad effort out of the Suns.
(I realize I might be grasping at straws here...)
