o's cut open again
leg kick by o
returned by a body hook by chuck
o's cut open again
chuck lands a big rigt
STOPPED
chuck wins on ref stoppage
Old fat man wins
How does it do it? who is next?
The old fat man weighs the same as o and is the exact same height.
Chuck beat him down and there wasn't a thing he could do about it.
I don't understand how o lost this time. He talked so much , and there was all this talking about him being in amazing shape mentally and physically. o is in much better shape and way more muscular than Lidell, but can't manage to bring him down enough...
My question is: Is Lidell that much of a hardcore bad ass mother er or is o just a little compared to what he looks like? OR a combination of both?
its both..chuck is one bad ass mother er but o is also just a little , they say hes in the best shape of his career and only to hype the fight look at his last 3 fights he went the distance with forrest who earlier got tko'd by jardine and then beat washed up ken shamrock...i knew o would be the same old o and still get knocked out
Man, my picks really suffered last night. Leben, Marerro, Griffin, all down the tubesI never figured on Jardine taking Griffin out so fast. Obviously, Forrest didn't either, and he didn't handle it very well

o was in great shape, but it's not like Ladell just sits on the couch so it's not that big of an advantage. They are both the same weight and height and while o looks almost 100% muscle, Ladell looks just a little less. So while I would give the advantage to o, it's not big enough to win a strikers fight. Also, I heard something about o possibly over training.
o is definitely very good though. Ladell was very cautious about mixing it up with him and looked like he would have been defeated if o got him on the ground. Ladell even said after the match it was his biggest victory ever so I think that speaks to o's ability.
Chuck is just a badass.
lol..i hope chuck does better against rampage this time around because last time it was just a beat down, but chuck is so much better and will still knock jackson out
Yeah I know Lidell is no bum, and I also saw that on e that o over trains, but o really has much more muscle than chuck. I don't know, o to mee just seems bulkier than Chuck and in a fight formatted like the UFC is, how you can wrestle, box, strike, kick, whatever, I think o should have the advantage. He looks like a guy who could get Chuck on the ground, overpower him, get on top and keep pounding him with punches and elbows.
Muscle does not equal a fight deciding advantage. If it did, Jeff Monson would be heavyweight champ. Strength/muscle is only a small component of the game. A perfect example of this would be the greatest fighter in the world, Fedor Emelienanko, who most people would describe as pudgy and undersized for a heavyweight.

Yeah I know, it just strikes me as odd that a guy like o can't maintain Lidell on the ground.
o is a great wrestler and very strong but Chuck wrestled in college and uses those skills to keep himself off the ground. Chuck really has a brilliant and perfectly adapted fighting style when you consider his strengths and natural physical attributes.
I wanna see an Arlovski vs. Liddell fight.
I know Arlovski outweighs him by like 30 pounds, but someone's gotta beat Liddell's ass. Not because I dislike Liddell, I like him, better than o that's for sure. The Huntington Beach Bad Boy is quite a bag, but I wanna see Arlovski beat Liddell's ass.
I don't know much about UFC but how good was Ken Shamrock in his prime???
I would love to see this match too. It's one of those dream matches that we as fans could only hope for. With Quentin Jackson being signed to UFC, you might get to see somebody beat Chuck's ass soon enough. Quentin did it once and he has the best chance out of anybody at doing it again.
Ken's prime was pretty long ago but he was a great fighter back in the day. They've released UFCs 1-6 on DVD so you can check out some of his old fights there. Just avoid the Superfights that he had with Royce Gracie and Dan Severn. These are 30 minute long snoozefests and there's really no reason to put yourself through watching them. I can't remember exactly which UFCs these were on but it should tell you on the DVD boxes.
7 out of 9 picks correct.
I am really dissapointed in DeSouza's performance. Alves is no joke, but DeSouza has alot of experience and skills and should have put up a much better fight.
The Griffin/Jardine fight surprised me. Forrest's standup was crisp, sharp, and looked better than it ever has. But Jardine started brawling and caught Forrest. People are becoming very aware that Greg Jackson's camp in New Mexico is turning out to be one of the more respected schools in MMA. He has Diego, Jardine, and Rashad Evans in the UFC, and they all have bright futures, especially Diego.
Even without the signing of Cro-cop, UFC's heavyweight divison is finally starting to get interesting with a couple of guy's showing potential, most notably Gabriel Gonzaga. He is a big guy with some serious BJJ skills, and even some standup power. Another heavyweight I'd like to see again soon is Antoni Hardonk. I'd like to see more of his ground game before I further assess how well he'd go in the HW division.
Also, looks like AA is back on track. That was a of a punch he threw at Cruz. I really want him to get back into the hunt for the le. I could see him and Cro-cop facing each other in a le match in the future.
Jason MacDonald is for real. Leben was very aggresive and getting the better of him standing up, but MacDonald has excellent submission skills and shows he can catch you at any time, as he did Leben.
Finally, Chuck again showed why he is the best: World class take down defense and an unorthadox and dangerous standup game. When you look at all the names of all of the people he has knocked out, it's very impressive and he has definately defended his le against some real talent. I'd love to see him and Jackson go at it again. Chuck fought a stupid fight their 1st fight because he completely ignored his entire gameplan. Also, back in '03, Jackson was at his highest point in his MMA career. Chuck is a better fighter now than he was back then and I'd say this is his highest point in his career. It would be an interesting fight, and if they fought tomorrow, I'd put my money on Chuck.
Funny, I didn't think it was that bad of an ass kicking by Chuck over o.
I went back & watched it twice yesterday & heard Randy C even say that the blows by Chuck, that many were going crazy over, weren't really hurting o because most were being blocked by o's arm.
All the replays of the last couple of seconds even show o starting to move to get back up & the ref stopping the fight. o then kicks in the air in what looks like frustration at having the fight stopped prematurely.
I gotta hand it to o, no excuses despite the questionable stoppage.
He knows he wasn't beat but has prob seen too many fighters make excuses afterwards.
o wanted no part of excuses.
Amazing.
After reading this thread, it would seem a few still think Tim S is the best HW in the UFC.
BTW, whatever happened to that Wunderkind Russian youngin' that was supposed to go unbeaten & tear thru the UFC?
Who are you talking about?
Exactly.
Anyways, I think that guy lost a little while back in some bush league fight.
when randy was in his prime he was the greastest ufc fighter of all time
