Am I to understand that HUGE pile of mulch caught fire (judging by the YouTube link) and that said fire still burns today?

How long has it been burning?

Since Christmas day ... it's like 400ft long X 80ft high or some crazy like that. Apparently it would burn for a year if left untended.

In the dry summer months half the forests in the state of New Mexico seem to catch on fire. The mountains here block the smoke from blowing out, so my city is covered in a brown haze every year during the fire season.

Seriously, I went out just now around Bandera/1604 and it wasn't very bad. I had to breathe really deep before I noticed it. So it's weird that Stone Oak-ers can smell it so strong.

Then there were those six years that I walked to my high school everyday. It was six miles, uphill in each direction. My buddy, little Billy McCoy, didn't have any legs so I'd carry him to school in my backpack.
