hey, my grandmother is dying from alzheimer's and just looking at all of the medication she is talking just makes me sick to my stomach. everything she is taking is killing her along with the disease and medication which prolongs the time before the inevitable. notice that i said along with the disease, so there's no reason to get on a soapbox here and think it's only effecting you. like i said. everything that i've read and posted here has been researched by liscensed health practioners with results. it's the same as what your husband used, only presented in a different medium, that allows him to provide for you and your family.

I would agree with that, totally ... as a matter of fact it took that man in the show 2 or 3 different doctors to get the right diagnosis himself.

But even after 2 wrong diagnosis, did you know what was wrong with you and how or what to look for to cure yourself? I wouldn't .. I'd have kept looking for that 3rd doctor, because they aren't all ignorant.

I knew it was more serious than the 1st two docs were saying....I knew I was in need of professional help because I'd never felt that bad before in my life.

I was actually begging the first two docs to do more testing initially but I looked too freaking awesome for a guy with cancer so they kept sending me home.

And you're right, the doctors I finally ended up with were incredible.

I would have been posting at the great big Spurstalk in the sky if it weren't for the docs who eventually treated me, so I looked at it as a blessing in disguise. In the end I had the best docs in this part of the country.

There are certainly some things that a google search isn't going to cure. I think people can cure themselves to a large extent, but sometimes you need a little help.

I am very sorry to hear that ... we lost a family friend recently from that, and it's a tragic disease. Is all of that medication just for that, though?

I think if there's a do-it-yourself cure for cancer I don't care if you tell me or not, but 1 in 7 every other women in the world would appreciate it if you would forward the link to the breast cancer research center, because apparently they haven't gotten the message.

Again, I'm very sorry to hear that. Why aren't her living will wishes being fufilled.

They don't have a cure for Alzheimer's disease yet. What, exactly, are you expecting them to do? I wish they did, but they don't. Hopefully someday (soon) they will.

And I guess the medical profession should be completely done away with, then...since they are directly responsible for so many deaths. the MILLIONS of people that have been already saved or lives made better.

She has a "do not resuscitate" and "no life support" clauses in her will, so in the strictest letter of the law, the nursing home is OK, as excess calories (3000+/day) and drugs could be interpreted as not being "life support".

But the spirit of her will was was no artificial life prolongation, and there the nursing is clearly not respecting her spirit, to their several $1000/month benefit. I'm a heartless monster for recommending letting her be fed a "normal" diet for a 95-pound bed-ridden person until her heart fails from lack of protein (because her body can't metabolize food efficiently). She's narcotized, so there'd be no pain. After I made that recommendation, they have not invited me back to the annual staff meeting to discuss my mother's care.

For-profit medical care is a racket, a license to print money.
