highly probably yes, if not, its the suns year.
Definitively is not the spurs year.
Not a chance because your roster outside of the big 3 is nothing but old . The Mavs blew several good leads last year and if they fix that then every team is ed. This team will win the le as long as they dont give away too many games in the postseason. Spurs used to be that good but now they are the ones down 9-20 points now when facing the Mavs. If they dont get y and know the job isnt finished until the clock reads 0:00...the le is ours.

This comment is so stupid. The east has no one that can challenge either the mavs or suns. The mavs play more defense and have a slightly better record so I don't understand why you think so high of the suns and not the mavs.
Damn, didn't Mavs fans learn last year that the Finals are a completely different series? What the heck makes you guys so damn elitist all of a sudden? A good regular season record? Spare us.
This is one reason mavs fans shouldn't get too excited about half a season. Anything can happen, and maybe they are peaking at the wrong time. Let's talk again in April.
I hate these kinds of threads but it's not like we didn't get a lot of experience last season and the guy we added in the off season who has been the best pickup in the last year has plenty of experience and three rings. The Spurs didn't have lots of experience when they had a great record and went on to win the championship in 1999. BTW, I don't revile anything except the Spurs...and neither do I revel in the Mavs' success right now.
First I want to qualify what I'm about to say by saying that this means nothing regarding the playoffs, because it's a whole different type of situation. But...you can't say the Mavs are "peaking" to early. You don't "peak" for half of a season...they are just playing consistently well. I have no idea if they'll go all the way this season, or if heaven forbid they could be upset as early as the first round. But I think some people here just need to accept that maybe they are just good. (Championship good remains to be seen.)This is one reason mavs fans shouldn't get too excited about half a season. Anything can happen, and maybe they are peaking at the wrong time. Let's talk again in April.
Detroit is coached by Flip ing Saunders. The Mavs are coached by Avery Johnson.
See the difference? Let's move on.
Sounds to me that you are the pathetic jealous loser. You probably hate the Cowboys for all the winning they have done. The Stars for winning once. Hopefully the Mavs will win one . I say you and get the out. Only whiny losers will all day about where they live and never do anything about it. Grow up and go away.![]()
LOL.....wasn't it the same last year after the Pistons took a dive?
Where were the Mavericks big set of stones last year during the Finals?!?!
The same Avery Johnson who coached them out of a 2-0 series lead in the Finals?
Ummmm....of course........
Isn't it a little early to put Avery in the hall of fame. come on.
It MIGHT be the Mavs year, but that is a big IF especially since Mavs are known for being chokers. I personally would not bet my money on them.
And the Suns?every year it's the same story, the Suns kill in the regular season then get killed int he playoffs. Haven't you guys learned?
I think Phoenix is taking it this year. Nash always s on the Mavericks and the Suns gave Dallas a good run last year despite only having a half a team. This year with Amare back and Nash staying in top form I don't see anything stopping these guys except the Spurs (if they get their heads outta their asses). The Suns (when healthy) have the Mavs' number.

Fine...
If Dirk played for the Spurs the fans would love him and his game...FACT.
Please elaborate on what the you're talking about...
Eastern conf is a different league when discussing team records...Mavs and Spurs would've been 35-3 at that point in the East last year...![]()
Yet we have defeated them 2 times this year.BTW, Dirk is starting to on Phoenix on a consistent basis and it's a matter of time before Howard starts to do the same.
Yeah no about Mavs fans ready to enshrine a coach that inherited a good team. These threads are all the same, should be in the NBA forum, pretending the best record at the all star break makes you the champion, overlooking any strides the east might make over the course of the year, and then lookind past the west. Going through the Western playoffs is about the hardest thing to do in sports, the west champion will have to beat 3 good teams, before meeting a east team that wont have had the same hard road, so settle the down, take a deep breath, and see what happens. And Dallas fans do suck balls, but you leave the godamn Cowboys out of it, they have more diehard fans in SA than in Dallas
And the Spurs have beat them and Dallas, doesnt mean at this point of the year, especially when you eventually have too play a 7 game series, dont you people realize the regular season doesnt matter? All it does is help with playoff series seedings and homecourt advantage. But as last years finals shows, you can win without homecourt, and lower seeds get past higher seeds all the time
MIKE JONES
I SERIOUSLY doubt this. A metro of 1.8 million does not have more diehard fans than a metro of 6.2 million rooting for it's hometown team. That's like saying there's more diehard Spurs fans in Seguin than in San Antonio.
As for you second comment. I agree 100%. It's the last part of that post that needed to be addressed. As if it's the Mavs fault that the Suns were injured. It's part of the game. if I wanted to play the if games, the Cowboys would have won more than 3 championships in the 90s if it wasn't for ego stupidity. Or maybe your Spurs would have had a great chance to repeat in 2000 if there wasn't so many injuries.
Wow, maybe you should move? Or does that job at McDonald's not afford you the ability to do that?

Haven't they been healthy this season? Does going 0-2 vs. the Mavs this season mean "having their number" in your world?
The regular season means to me...especially games the first week of the season or the first month of the season for that matter. They may as well be preseason games. There are too many variables in the regular season...injuries, road trips, back to backs, etc. And Amare was not pushing himself hard that first month because he was having pain after games and they were only giving him limited minutes. It was a big adjustment period for the whole team. I don't care if the Suns don't beat the Mavs at all in the regular season...come May or June if the Suns are healthy I have no doubt they'll take out the Mavericks in a series.
You might be right about how things play out in the playoffs, but to say that the Suns have the Mav's number is ridiculous.
Listen to this big guy.![]()
