downtown bar an grill can kiss my ass, they openly discriminate against the handicapped. god forbid they may have to move a cahir or 2 in the that over crowded place so a lady ian wheelchair can get to a table.
they do make a decent sandwhich tho.... and amaretto sours.
when I worked at the census we had amaretto sours at lunch everyday over there.
205 was after my time.

uhh, how about v-town's only dance club for a long time, ozone. you could get drinks there at 16. not to mention the TC - tejano country by the old fuddrucker's - that place was packed every weekend night.
omg! you mentioned ozone! if you could walk you were old enough to drink
remeber the alternative rock station - the lizard - we had for all of 3 months?
no, but i remember barsness, the owner of mr gattis getting MTV taken off the air for a couple years in the early 90s since it offended his Christian sensibilities... that was the lamest ever. you couldn't hear anything but easy listening, country or soft rock for years.
Doesn't/didn't "Brother Gary Moses" own those?
I remember being in the mall one day and he was the MC of some godawful "fashion show" Dillard's or someone was putting on.
Yea, but V-Town still has 98.7 which kicks plenty of ass.
barsness owned them until sometime in the mid to late 90s. apparently the biggest one with the play room had to shut down, don't know if that was after she had . he opened up ultimate pizza there now, supposedly the same schtick. he had built a ridiculous mansion near the country club with his gatti money.
Yeah it does...I miss Coffman's Corner.
RIP Steve...
jubug is keepin 98.7 ALIVE
steve jr cannot be trifled with
This Pego Was And Will Always Be...my Best St Friend
i'm both honored and concerned, batman
Don't worry Pego, just make sure you the get the MONEY B4 u give him any Honey.
The dude got MTV taken off the air?????? I was wondering why in the early years of beavis and butthead mtv suddnely became a pay channel
omg
i had no idea
i really don't know how he did it, but he did. i also remember some rumor about him buying a jammer to jam rock radio signals, but that seems pretty far fetched.
sounds like this guy belong somewhere in utah or some
and lmfao, my friend said when he left victoria it had the highest crime rate or murder rate per capita or some . i think i laughed out loud. is there any truth to this or is he just a country boy trying to make his roots seem tougher?
No dude, victoria has the highest murder per capita ever since this mexican drug gang gained supremacy over the crossroads--sometime around mid 2001-late 2002.
its a bunch of young punk ass rival gangs doing most of the killing. just groups of kids, teenagers mostly, that think they own their block.
why does this seem so elementary, so laaaame to me? i mean, we're talking about VICTORIA ING TEXAS, i heard about that 18 wheeler with the dead immigrants, but is it supposed to be the compton/watts texas version? if so, it lags sadly. why does this whole thing come across as a sick joke to me?
It actually has a very low murder per capita. Much lower than the national average.
National average in 2005 was 5.6 per 100K people. Victoria was 3.5 - making it tied for 183rd on this list.

its only a small portion of victoria that has this problem, really. I mean noone is scared to walk outside or anything. but.........
the sale and distribution of crack in this ty section of victoria is the main culprit.
basically, the only people getting killed are gang members and drug dealers
except for sally blackwell
within the past 5 years, victoria has been, at least once, among the top 9 in the country for murder per capita
1999 - 3.3 per 100K
2000 - 5.0
2001 - 3.3
2002 - 14.9
2003 - 13.2
2004 - 9.9
I'm guessing it was in 2002, when you had nine total murders.
woah thats nothing, san antonio had like 250 in 94!
