uhh, how about v-town's only dance club for a long time, ozone. you could get drinks there at 16. not to mention the TC - tejano country by the old fuddrucker's - that place was packed every weekend night.

no, but i remember barsness, the owner of mr gattis getting MTV taken off the air for a couple years in the early 90s since it offended his Christian sensibilities... that was the lamest ever. you couldn't hear anything but easy listening, country or soft rock for years.

barsness owned them until sometime in the mid to late 90s. apparently the biggest one with the play room had to shut down, don't know if that was after she had . he opened up ultimate pizza there now, supposedly the same schtick. he had built a ridiculous mansion near the country club with his gatti money.

No dude, victoria has the highest murder per capita ever since this mexican drug gang gained supremacy over the crossroads--sometime around mid 2001-late 2002.
its a bunch of young punk ass rival gangs doing most of the killing. just groups of kids, teenagers mostly, that think they own their block.

National average in 2005 was 5.6 per 100K people. Victoria was 3.5 - making it tied for 183rd on this list.

its only a small portion of victoria that has this problem, really. I mean noone is scared to walk outside or anything. but.........
the sale and distribution of crack in this ty section of victoria is the main culprit.
basically, the only people getting killed are gang members and drug dealers
