Howard and Anthony should be replacements. If Stern is forced to go with a center, then it should be the center (Okur, most likely) and Howard.
I hate the Mavs as much as anyone else, but they deserve two All-Stars and Howard is better than half of the 12 players already named.

Dues paying. Parker had a couple of borderline season before he was picked last year in his 4th season. Kids have to wait their turn. You may not like it, but it's a reality.
Parker is average 18.9 points on 53% shooting and 5.7 assists and plays for a team with the 3rd best record in the West.
I'd say he deserves it over Deron Williams.

The Nuggets play uptempo, the big guys rebound and Melo gets out on the break. The majority of the time he gets the ball is to score or set someone up when he needs to.

You know. It probably has little to do with his scoring, blahblah. Maybe the league is sick of Carmelo. He got in the fight and missed a lot of games. He has that video with gangstas or whatever. His friend took the blame for having his weed. He said he threw his Olympic medal in the ocean. Maybe, just maybe, the coaches and the league want him to grow up a little.
But I'm sure he'll whine and cry to the press now, just like last time.

With Yao and Boozer out, common sense would lend you to believe Carmelo and Josh Howard will replace those two. But, LMAO anyway at Carmelo not initially getting picked. Coaches said they wouldn't hold the 15 game suspension against him. LMAO! That makes it worse that he didn't get chosen.
Parker and Deron is close, but I'd give the edge to Parker. But, I'd give the edge to a healthy Chris Paul over both.
It won't be a hard decision for Stern, the message has been sent to Melo and he'll pick him for the ASG.
David Stern might pick him if the pilot light on the Sun suddenly goes out.

No he won't. I think Stern would have liked to suspend him longer, but with the new CBA, he was limited. He'll "suspend" him from the ASG instead.

Its partly coz the league marketers make Lebron and Wade look like angels. Can you imagine the reaction if Melo gave up on his team b4 the game was over (ala Lebron) ?
He has issues and i agree that he needs to grow up but the league has hated him since day one. They wont ever change that stance and will continue to portray bad stuff about him while blowing Lebron and Wade.

I think for Tony it came down to that A LOT of coaches when facing San Antonio say this same line, "The key to stopping San Antonio is stopping Parker's penetration." So when it came down to voting, many of them probably thought he was an obvious reserve choice. I really thought that JHoward would make the team though.
If he doesn't get named as a replacement player, that's really horrible.
I'm guessing Tony's going to help defend the Spurs' "Shooting Stars" le.
