Slomo, you may not realize it, but San Antonio (And due south of town) has an awful lot of polka music. The area where my wife is from has a lot of Bohemian influence (Czech/Pole/Slavic/German). Matter of fact, my wife's Grandmother has such a heavy Czech accent I can hardly understand her. And years ago when those peoples settled the areas, the Mexicans who also lived in the area adopted the accordian and polka style of music and "conjunto" and "ranchero" types of music that evolved from that pairing is still very popular today.
