Hey lebomb, weren't you saying the other day that any great player could score 50 four consecutive games if he got the touches? Why didn't Jordan, arguably the greatest player ever, do it in 86/87 when he averaged 28 shots/game and he played in all 82 games?
FYI: He managed to do it in three consecutive games and scored 50+ eight times that year...

I dont think Kobe is on the same level as MJ... League rules have changed so much to heavily side with the shooter, Kobe would get smashed if he had to play through the defense MJ did. Some of that stuff would be suspension-worthy in todays NBA.
Bruce Bowen is a toned down version of the defense back then... and who does Kobe think guards him the best?

Bowen is a freak that matches up with everyone, you shouldnt downplay his defense, defenders like him dont come along very often. With that said, MJ is definately the better player. He dominated like no other at his position. But if Kobe ends up getting a couple more les and plays another 6, 7 years, he probably will be in the conversation when its all said and done
