To be fair, garbage time against a team playing no real defense whatsoever is no kind of evaluation.

timvp is right, the best thing about him is that he was aggressive. But not overly so, and except for one possession where he dribbled out the clock was contributing to good ball movement.

Certainly, I think he showed enought that we'd all like to see him during meaningful minutes.
This is the most spur excitement I have had in a lllllllllllllllllllllong time....

I think, I need to wake up pseudo and celebrate...

You guys may be impressed with his play, but I don't think he has it.

He looked enthusiastic enough. He kept the mental mistakes down, and he knows how to penetrate.

But I didn't see it in him. To me he looks like a poor imitation of Devin Harris. He can't rebound. He literally had two rebounds in his hands taken away from him. He can't hold his position. He's afraid to shoot at any range, which will make him an easy scout.

Its just a guess, but I don't see him staying in the league very long.

First off, I was simply stunned that Pop even activated him, much less inserting him into a game.

Very active. Offensively aggressive. Pounded the rock too long on one possession. Needs some work defensively and needs to learn how to box out under the glass, but a very impressive start. Loved his energy. I hope he sees the end of more blowout games.

That's a lot of bold statements from one quarter. I don't get the Devin Harris reference. Harris is 6'2 point guard. White is a small forward with a huge wingspan.

it was his first game ever in the NBA. Considering that, he did look like he fit in and showed very good athleticism. Wait 10 games or so before you throw him out of the league.

I would have liked to see if he has a jumper. He passed up a couple of 18 to 20 footers in favor or ball rotation. Not sure if he was just a little gun shy or if he doesn't have confidence in his shot.

The spittin image of Stephen Jackson -- both looks and movements. Probably at ude as well. Headband, check. Glazed eyes, check. Next year he probably hits a bunch of 3s to clinch the championship. Then he leaves.
All I heard there was championship.

Well his 3 (his first shot) rattled out. But you can't tell much from a few shots.

I hope the Spurs have more blowout wins in which to insert him.

Laugh away Sequ, It's just a gut feeling. But I don't think the potential is there. For him to be any good, he has to work his ass off the next few years. I'd call him a really long shot to ever be a part of any teams rotation for more than a year.

Just my gut intuition. I like the kid, but am not seeing it.

Might want to watch him a couple more times. He's not a point guard, ball handler or small like Harris is.

He looked taller than Finley, so he's probably a legit 6-foot-7. He's more like a poor man's Trevor Ariza at this point.

White looked great. He rebounded. (Spurs need) He showed his ball handling skills when he went to the board for a layup.. (Spurs need) He brought the ball up the court once.. (>Beno) He stood in the corner...(Bruce Bowenish) He threw down... (Uh?? help me out here) He dropped some free throws... Dude was awesome.

Like Harris in that he's going to be streaky at best shooting, and mainly a drive and dish/dunk kind of guy.

there's not much to see in one quarter, especially as much as you saw.

    I know. I'm getting confused.

SilverPlayer - Devin Harris is the Mavs point guard. Where's the connection to a high flyer like White?

At this point, a jumper at this stage is not that crucial. Fist, the Spurs are chock full of jump shooters right now and what they need are more slashers. Second, a jump shot can be developed over the course of a couple of years, and the Spurs already have a guy on their staff who can help with that.

Not being mean here, but he comes across, to me, like a SJax but with wings and a burning desire to dominate, not a bad thing to add...........

yeah I thought that post was making pretty huge assumption based on a player's debut in garbage minutes.
