why would you assume that i was trying to make a connect between that series and the current season? i was merely poking fun at the rockets and their meltdown, nothing more or less. actually, in other threads, i've noted how tough the rockets would be as a matchup this season and i'd prefer not to see them so soon.Hey pm b/c I want some stock tips. i was pointing the quick turnaround you had there. i'll admonish who i please when i please. if spur fan does it in two to three posts i'd be happy to point it out.
if there was any connection between the turnaround then you'd have something to admonish...only a dummy couldn't see the difference.
Case A. lots of spurs fans think that because the mavs choked last year and they have some *history* of choking (which is b.s.), they will just choke again this year
Case B. i poked fun of the rockets because of their ty performance in game seven two years ago. did i make any conclusions based on that jab? no...like i said before, i've acknowledged how well i think the rockets are capable of playing in this year's playoffs.
any clearer? btw, cut the crap. there are several spurs fans who think 1. mavs choking last season means they'll choke again this season and 2. spurs have some rings and because mavs and other teams don't have them, spurs know what it takes to win and have a decisive advantage over other teams. do you admonish them? no. you made an incorrect deduction about two of my posts and were incorrect, that's all there really is to say about this issue.

If the Mavs win, the 3 rings vs no rings smack will just turn into "What do Tim Duncan and the circus have that you don't?" smack.

There is no point to this thread. We already know the facts.
1) The Mavs choked in the finals. Therefore, they will choke again. It is inevitable, because teams do not improve or change. What is always will be.
2) The Spurs struggled earlier in the season, and due to that fact and the fact that they were not in the finals last season, they will, again, fail.
3) The Spurs are old and boring, no one cares, no one watches, and this is another reason why they will fail. And because San Antonio sucks as a city.
4) The Spurs have three rings. The Mavs have none. Clearly, this will be a Lakers/Spurs/Celtics race for the le. Just LOOK at those championship banners.

I don'tk now about the Lakers and Celts, but the Spurs rings do mean alot right now, because the Spurs actually have the same players who have won the championship in recent years. I don't know why mavs fans talk when we bring up the rings. Its not like the Spurs don't have Tim tony or manu anymore and have no chance of winning. They are way more experienced than the Mavs. they have shown they have what it takes to win. The only Mavs experience was choking. Until they can prove they can win a championship. Then I'll give credit where its due.
Yeah, we've heard that one too. Over and over and over and over again. I understand...I don't actually think that the Celts and Lakers have the same chance at a championship as the Spurs. I'm just sort of mocking both sides of it, the idiocy of Spurs AND Mavs fans.
I think the Mavs have the Spurs on their minds absolutely and more than the Suns. They have such an advantage though because Spurs i think can beat the Suns but it will probably be a drag out 7 game series in order to get it done. Mavs should be fresh and they will have the HC advantage as well. I am hoping my Spurs can beat the odds this year and get back to the finals.

I find it amusing already that most Spurs fans are looking past Phoenix in the 2nd round. I'd be very concerned about the Suns and will be if the Mavs face them in the WCF's.
the Heat ended up champions last year. Suns making the finals is nothing compared to that.
Don't get fans smack confused with reality. In a rematch of great teams from a greatly compe ive series ... each team will have the other on their mind. It one or the other does not, they are toast and should just stay home. Neither the Mavs or the Spurs will plan on staying home on this one.

I am going to speak honesty here. What matters is the Championship. The easier the road to the Championship, the better. This is the reason for home court you know.
Now the easiest path would be for the other top seeds to be gone in the first round, the best teams left, to be knocked out in the second round.
Do I think it will happen? Get real.
Now as a fan, I want two things. To watch great basketball in the playoffs and for the Mavs to win the Championship. I would like both, but if all the top teams except for the Mavs loose in the first round, I will not be crying.

Idiot Mav fan!Mavs are a of a team Spur fans just admit it. we're currently winning another game by 20+ on our way to 59-11, and still "act" non-impressed. the Spurs win 15 out of 17 and all of a sudden they are the team to beat. Mavs have done it all year and have taken care of the Spurs this year and in the playoffs last year. the torch has already been passed. you guys will just be reminded in the playoffs if you manage to make it as far as us.
i hope we play the Warriors in the playoffs when its time to actually play our best against them. there will be a lot of dissapointed people in here
