who cares about amare and chandler? amare wouldn't get more than half his shots if it weren't for nash and speculation about chandler is pointless. anyway, mavs should have an easy time tomorrow getting their 60th win playing a bucks team without bogut or villanueva.

I believe you said Amare would not get more than half his shots if it weren't for Nash. I never said that you said all his shots from Nash. Fine line I know, but still Amare is getting much better creating his own shot. Not even close to Dirk but he has to start somewhere and he is only 24.

no, not even close to dirk and he never will be...nash won't be around forever and certainly won't be around when amare is dirk's age right now. amare is athletic as and he's a very good post player with an average jumpshooting game. when he takes it in the paint and gets the feeds from nash, he's unstoppable and often gets to the free throw line. he's getting better on the defensive end but still has a ways to go, like dirk. he won't continue to improve though, i don't see it, not without someone like nash by his side.

He actually had good numbers with Marbury at the point. I would have to do some research on his exact numbers but he isn't totally dependent on Nash. He is a great player in his own right and plays a totally different game than Dirk. Doesn't make him any less of a player though.

Until he can win a couple of games without Nash at his side I won't say that he's on the same level as Dirk. Maybe he will be someday, he's still young and developing, but I don't see it. Amare's fg% is more than a point higher since Nash has been with the Suns (second time around, of course) and this isn't by coincidence. Don't get me wrong, Amare is a very good basketball player, one of the best, but he's not anywhere near the type of player that Dirk is, they should not be compared.

lol, at this suns article i just read about their 20 point win over the grizz...it was the second game of a BTB and d'antoni left his starters in the game until the end...and they won by 20? awesome!
Haha that's cuz Dantoni knows that if he took his starters out, that team could very easily lose a 20 point lead in about 3 minutes. Literally 3 minutes. Maybe less.

Actually I think D'Antoni was trying to get the point differential high enough to jump the Mavs in the Hollinger ratings....

I have to disagree with you here on Chandler being more physically gifted than Amare. What about Chandler's game gives you this impression?
The fact that he can block shots, rebound, body up in the post, jump out of the gym like nobody else, run the floor with ease, and do everything except be in position on offense to do anything at all. but he's getting better at that.

You basically just described Amare. He can run the floor with ease, rebound, block shots, body up in the post and is learning to get assists and shoot a jumpshot. I watch him a lot more than you I would think. Guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

oh i'll be here, but oddly enough, i'm not even that excited about the game on sunday. i'm glad harris will get to play the entire game and we have george and buckner back but i'm just getting a bit tired of the regular season and it seems like the mavs have the first seed wrapped up for the most part so it's not quite so exciting for me. i expect it will be a close game but i will admit, it would be nice if the mavs could trounce the suns on sunday...and by that i mean win by ten points

Yeah I think that ABC will make a bigger deal of the game then it really is. Both teams have playoff spots secured so is not really a must win for either team. Although it will be nice if the Suns win to even the regular season series.

slightly more so than kings fans watching it from home and then realizing they played well enough to bump them out of the top five draft picks

Dallas owns New Orleans.....Fillmoe the Kings suck and I think you know that but hey their making a run for the 8th seed. I'd love to play Sacramento in the first round despite our previous success vs them in the playoffs.

fillmoe wants the kings to lose as much as possible so that they will do well in the draft...he's also a bulls fan and let's this be known whenever the kings lose/bulls win on the same day

New Orleans has a good core with Paul,West and Chandler and thier rookie Armstrong seems to have some upside. But I still can't understand why they went after Peja.

hey RonMexico, here's some stats for you:

    Josh Howard 10-16 FGM-A, 2-2 3pts, 3-3 FTM-A, 10 boards (7 defensive), 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocked shots, 25 points
Anybody can do that vs. the Hornets.

I'll take Amare's explosiveness any day as well. But if Tyson Chandler were to ever get a clue on offense, he'll blow Amare out of the water. Of course that's a big IF....plus there's always a chance that Amare will get a clue on defense too.

Chandler's more physically gifted....but Amare's ability to put the ball in the basket definitely makes him far more valuable right now.
If Chandler started to develop his skills on offense, then he would definitely be a potent threat (much like Dwight Howard is going to be in these upcoming years). But Amare is a different kind of beast.

While Chandler certainly has the talent to become an all-star, Amare has the talent to change the game of basketball simply by force of will, along with Wade and Lebron. If only his knees would hold up.

    says the guy that said:

Just ask the unheard of players before the Spurs series such as Josh Howard and Jason Terry. Who really even knew who those guys were before the Spurs series last year?
    Pure genius...
