I worked at a theatre a few years ago and some idiot brought his 3 year old son and daughter to see Team America. I guess watching dolls each other is easier than having to give "the talk" yourself. Parenting is funny.

I guess we all have some funny theater story.

Like the time I went to see Fight Club and there was a HUGE Brad Pitt fan behind my girl and I fingering herself till she nearly fell off her chair.

I typically have a tolerance for long movies, but this one doesn't feel like three hours. When I saw it, I don't think there was a person in the audience who wasn't ready for more as soon as it ended.

Well, except for the s a few rows back who brought a toddler. Merry Christmas, dumbasses, now you get to explain skull ing to a confused 3-year-old.
When I worked at a movie theatre one of my manager's favorite story to tell was about this stupid mother who took her three year old to see the Passion of the Christ. When the theatre refused to sell her and the kid tickets to the movie because of the sub les and gore she bought tickets to something else and then snuck into the theatre showing the Passion. Once in there she proceeded to tell the kid every line of dialogue off of the sub les. It was a ways into the movie before someone in the theatre was finally bothered enough by it to leave and get a manager.

When the lady was confronted she decided that she was going to have it out with the manager right there in the theatre rather than step outside. So she's throws a screaming fit. By that point pretty much everyone in that theatre was paying more attention to her than the movie. Well, everyone except her son who was still watching when the real gruesome stuff started happening and he started screaming at the top of his lungs. So finally this idiot woman and her hysterical kid are taken out of the theatre where she DEMANDS A REFUND! Apparently, even though she had been refused the tickets initially, lied, and snuck into the theatre she wouldn't have done of all that if someone had properly informed her just how violent this movie was going to be. Police had to escort her out of the building.

The fact that people walk out on a movie because it actually employs dialogue just goes to show how dumbed down and re ed our society is on average. What? No shiny objects and bright flashing lights? Well then, it!! It sucks. Bring on Spiderman 3 or any other movie that appeases our 30 second attention span. God, sometimes I just ing hate this society.
talking about nothing does not good dialogue make. constant pop culture references and talking about how cool austin is isn't dumbed down?

Just saw it, ing incredible. I regret seeing the 11PM showing though because I am getting no sleep tonight thanks to that. Oh well, what's life without regrets? If you don't see this, or wait for DVD, you are missing out. It won't have nearly the same effect on DVD. In fact if I was Rodriguez and Tarantino, I wouldn't even release a DVD just to spite all those who didn't see it...but then people like me would about there not being one, and would be mucho pissed.

Just saw it recently as well, and I thought it was oustanding. A movie going experience not to be missed. Sure, it's long, but bring a couple of beers with ya' or something.

I will say, after all the 'bad' reviews I got from friends, going into the movie I really underestimated "Death Proof". Was expecting it to be much worse, with the way it's being talked about. Loved how off-beat it was from "Planet Terror", great contrast, as the viewer it kept me on my toes. Walked away glad that the experience wasn't over-saturated with action, gore, etc. Kept on expecting to hate it, but I found it's "imperfection" rather enjoyable.

The trailers were awesome, as was that random tex-mex clip and other stuff. "Machete" and "Thanksgiving" were the best. Only one I felt could have been better was "Werewolf Women of the SS", just lacked something. The dirtiness of the film and "missing reels" were very cool too. As a projectionist, it was a trip to watch, because I'm so used to trying to achieve the total opposite of that (ie. clean, scratch free film).
