Mavs only have four losses in their last 30-something games, and Spurs fans are trying to put losses in their face?
two losses in a very short time
and a very bad showing against the suns letting them shot 65% for the game

Who cares. They still have the best record in the league. You can't talk smack about them not winning 70, winning anything over 62 is damn good for any NBA team, any season.
62+ wins is great. Talking smack about winning as much as the Mavs have would be assinine and I personally wouldn't subscribe to it, though my posting in this thread may have thrown you off a little.

Just saying ... as of late Mavs are not keeping up with their status quo winning ways and this late in the season--not a good thing, imo. Regular season wins don't count in 7 game serieseses, true, but I bet momentum does.

As long as the mavs get hot once the playoffs start than I'm fine with this slump.

    70 wins = pointless. Just a number.

The only time a team that won more than 65 games failed to win the championship, it was because their best player got hurt in the playoffs.

The Mavs better keep those ankles on Nowitzki and Howard wrapped nice and tight.

no one likes to hear the media fawning over their rival team. sure, it was the media hyping the 70 wins thing, but as a spurs fan, or a fan of any other team, that gets pretty obnoxious, so it's only natural to be relieved when they fall short. i personally don't feel the number 70 has any magic properties, but it WILL be nice to finally put the whole irritating issue to rest. i'm sure a lot of mavs fans feel the same way, and many of them have said as much. we all know that if the spurs had a shot at 70 wins, and had let it slip away due to a mini-slump at the end of the season, there would be several mavs fans in here excitedly gloating over that fact. probably some of the same mavs fans who are shrugging off this round of mockery and accusing spurs fans of envy. there is no logic to trash talk. trash talk is all about getting under your opponent's skin. why do people on here inisist on debating the intellectual merits of trash talk? it's baffling.

Mavs pretty much wrapped up the #1 seed with their 6-0 roadtrip a couple of weeks back. And hey, the Heat lost to the Bobcats yesterday with both Shaq and Wade in the lineup. Are we to conclude that losing to Charlotte at home says anything about Miami's post-season chances? Of course not. But if we applied the same logic to Dallas, there'd be nothing to talk smack about, right?

Why do Spurs (and other teams) fans think that the Mavs players, coaches, or fans care about 70 wins??

I'd prefer that the Mavs started playing good ball again...they've been playing like $hit for a couple weeks...

March & April last season, the Mavs went 15-11 (including losses to San Antonio, Detroit, Cleveland, and 2 to the Suns). And they had the three game losing streak that led to the infamous tirade in Orlando.

None of that "faltering" seemed to affect them too much against San Antonio in the playoffs...

You know who else is playoff-ready? Miami. Forget the 6 turnovers and the 3-9 shooting yesterday against Charlotte. D-Wade got 12 FTAs in 26 minutes. That comes out to 22 FTAs per 48 minutes.

    Let the le defense begin!

LOL that's just insane. Nobody has to worry about his shoulder being 100% - if he can shoot free throws, he's got his entire game back.

Color me morose and cynical, but there's only three teams that can beat the Mavericks fair and square: Detroit, San Antonio and Phoenix. I really don't want to see Cleveland make it to the Finals, because I love LeBron, and I don't want to watch him shoot 28 FT's a game against us. Don't worry, if the Suns and Spurs can't knock us off, David Stern will.

    NBA -- It's Fantastic!

Is this really what Spurs fans have resorted to?

Come on, guys, you're better than this.
