The NBA has serious, serious problems with the officials.
And why just suspend Crawford? Fire this clown already, he has been fixing games and having personal biases for 15 years at least.
Get rid of Javie, Rat Salvatore, Bob Delaney, Jack Nies, Bernie Fryer while you are at it.

Thank God. Even though I 100% believe Bennett Salvatore cost the Spurs the le last year with that ridiculous 6th on Duncan, I can live with it because it's just a blown call, and happens. Salvatore may be blind, but he's not an asshole looking to be bigger than the game. No one watches the NBA to see Joey Crawford, Steve Javie, or Bavetta.

I'd say baiting a player, asking him if he wants to fight, surpasses any action of a ref in modern day history even the Lakers whining and perceived injusitce about the Lakers - Detroit series. They just allowed Detroit the mugging that the Lakers were allowed on Duncan and Parker.

Crawford ed with one of the good guys in the league. If this was Artest they probably would not have even investigated. Crawford messed with Duncan though and that is a big reason this got so much attention because Timmy does not get involved in these kind on things.

when an official gets indefinitely suspended,
when the winner of a high-quality, compe ive, close game between the 2 tops teams is decided by bad reffing.

They called phantom jump ball violations to open the first 4 games of the series.
Lakers were out of fouls with 8-9 minutes left in every quarter and Kobe was 'shut down' by Tayshaun Prince riding him like a rented mule without a whistle.
Everyone knows that series was fixed, it was not even hidden. Since then, nothing even amazes me when it comes to the NBA, playoff games and their "impartial officials"
If it is true that Crawford is being suspended with pay, I would have to question why he is being paid. Joey is the worst of the worst, but at least ten other guys need to go also from the NBA officiating ranks.
The officiating has gotten so bad that something needed to happen to bring about change. When thousands upon thousands of "fans" are coming to regard the league as fake and/or fixed - it's time to do something. Hopefully this is just the first domino that gets things going.
