Oh COME ON. You're telling me you don't roll your eyes when you hear that sad, tired eletronica being played?

Great choice!
I think it's probably the best adrenaline-pumping song ever written.![]()
how about something for people that cant stand screaming heavy metal like you guys are suggesting.
You have to remember. Not everyone that goes to the game likes the idea of hearing some idiot with no talent screaming their head off over synthisized guitars.
Country fan?
Well in San Antonio you're the minority. And where can I get one of these guitar synthesizers that you speak of?
As a tribute to Virginia Tech, they should use this song:

Now THAT'S more like it. The crowd would definitely be fired up.
Pardon me for for having the opinion...
Hey no offense, but the scenario was a fantasy. You don't have to consider what others would want to hear in a fantasy.
If the question was "What would be an appropriate replacement for 'Are You Ready For This?'", I certainly wouldn't pick an S.O.D. song. I can't speak for everyone else, but in that second scenario I would try to pick a song suitable for a wide range of demographics.
You should be pardoning yourself for calling people/bands you don't like "idiot(s) with no talent."
And likewise, I don't see you making any suggestions...
Loser by Beck
As reminded by Kissing Suzy Kolber, the last two minutes of GnR's "Paradise City" would be quite nice.

Think what you want about Kid Rock, but Detroit's intros were badass.
Made our "Y'all Ready for This" a little embarrassing, IMO.
Spurs can have a cool intro going (example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIRdQ3ugyws ) and then that "Y'all ready for this" starts and it's a total Buzz Kill.
Welcome to the jungle.

OMGWTF! Da Spurs have deh heavy music in da introe!!!1!!
I'll apologize for T Pork, he dislikes any music that gets his heart racing. As you can see in the picture at the top of the club, he's not used to the extreme stress that a Metallica song would put on his cardiovascular system.
You can please all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but if you try to please all of the people all of the time, you're just a fool. Unless you know of a musical genre that somehow everyone loves?
Metal has naturally developed as a style of music that gets a player's adrenaline pumping. The music fits the flow of the game very well, the crashing of drums and the guitar's meedley's (Strongbad fans take notice) form an analogous relationship to the action present on a court. There is a reason many weightlifters pump iron to metal.
People who don't like hearing loud music or noises probably shouldn't be going to sporting events anyway. The crowd during a game 7 is louder than any intercom system in any arena.
