That is pretty lame.....maybe its because you guys have been here a lot in the past few years and your fans are spoiled.....The Jazz sold out games 3 and 4 in 15 minutes.
Don't live in or near the city - there are lots of Spurs fans in that predicament. And if it was a Friday or Saturday game, maybe, but we had to work today.
Also, we can't afford good seats, and frankly, I'd rather watch at a bar with a big screen or in the comfort of my home, where I can blog during the game and wear my lucky (and wildly mismatched) clothes.
I already think it was asking a lot to give up the Sunday nap - but you know, for the Spurs, I did it.
It did look empty on TV, but I hope it's packed next time.

ROFL... know what this tells me?
All of the upper deck people who say that lower bowl Spurs fan is spoiled, doesnt cheer and sits the whole game can go himself.
WE SHOW UP TO THE GAME AT LEAST!
can't even sell out a god damn in Gm1 WCF
Spurs might as well play in an empty gym
and people wonder why the Spurs play better on the road
spoiled, in spoiled, once TD retires and this organization isn't sniffing the playoffs for 10-15 years you will all cry for not selling out a damn WCF game
Its not that big of a deal. They were off 497 tickets from a sell out. They had just played two days prior and the start time was weird at 2:30. I'm not worried about it. I don't think not selling out the first game of the WCF means the city and the fans don't deserve a championship.
I don't usually go to the games, but I've noticed that, every year, there are fewer and fewer fans watching games at my favorite watering holes. I've almost been in a few fights over TV volume vs. jukebox volume. Can you believe that?
San Antonio has been spoiled by the success of the Spurs.
here's something else about the lame crowds.![]()

I tried getting tickets from ticketmaster and it was sold out, supposedly. I hate scalpers though, I bet most of those tickets were sold and people didn't get a hold of them. It never ceases to amaze me how many people have no idea where to get tickets online besides ticketmaster. Stubhub had plenty, but I decided to watch the game with my nephew after his Bible school instead.
I saw empty seats right behind the Jazz bench. I couldn't believe my eyes.
I guess some people have to get their pray on.
Spurs Dynasty 21 = PATHETIC
the rich are spoiled. what else is new.
look up into 2nd level. sold out and loud. TRUE san antonio spurs fans.
You making a big deal that the Spurs were off by a sell out by less than 500 tickets is kind of pathetic.
Lame excuse. It wouldn't be a problem in Salt Lake City, and I guarantee those Mormons have a much longer church day on Sunday than the average San Antonian, and are more devout to boot.
Night games are best for ticket sales. Sunday during the day is never good for anything except football.
It just means that Spurs fans suck, and don't deserve the team.
ROFL... club 200 was where the seats were empty...
they really didnt sell out?
that is embarassing...and that's not the san antonio i remember...in 1999 when i was in san antonio during the finals, the entire city went mad, there was a let's go spurs sign everywhere
i'm going to go myself...brb.
There are still a lot of Go Spurs Go signs all over the city. Its not the city is bored with this team. In my opinion, its not a big deal they didn't sell out the first game.
Just wait till the national media gets a hold of this.
I understand your being upset...but it's not the fans' fault if they can no longer afford tickets to the games. A perfect example: My brother, who is a doctor, had season tickets for several years, but as the prices climbed, he finally had to give them up and watch the games at home. When a doctor feels he can no longer afford the extravagance of the tickets, it's a bad sign.
But don't blame it on the fans. You .
TD should demand a trade after this season
SMH @ there being empty seats at a in home WCF game
Last year there was no problem selling out the first Dallas game on a day and a half turnaround and a Sunday afternoon game. So none of those excuses float.
Already did- on ESPN.
The exception: Dallas. And Dallas is hardly devoted to the Mavericks.
Not to mention that SA is more Southwest than South. Does Phoenix have trouble selling out Suns games? No.
These excuses are crap. If I could get out of town to go, I'd go. Period. There is no freaking way there are only 18,000 people in a metro area of close to 2 million that can afford to go to playoff games. San Antonio is richer than it has ever been before.
This just seals the reality that San Antonio takes the Spurs' success for granted. When Tim Duncan is gone, the Spurs will be lucky to draw 8,000 a game, like it was in the mid-'80s.
I just seriously hope that a bunch of Spurs "fans" didn't puss out over the Horry/Nash incident, because if they did, they deserve to be beaten severely.
