It actually turned into an entertaining thread...

BTW, do Dallas fans kick themselves for losing the Chapparals?

and where did the name Dallas Mavericks come from?

Hopefully not a homage to this team: http://www.remembertheaba.com/Houston-Mavericks.html
    They stole it from UT-Arlington.

isn't the proper response to this thread...

    "8th seed"?
Jeez, try to compliment a Spurs fan on their good fortune, and they take it the wrong way. You stay classy, Spurs fan.

the dallas fort worth area is home to some of the most disgusting s in the country, my bros friend is a cop there. Walking dwell in some parts of the DFW, infact some places you dont even want to drive through...The same cannot be said about San Antonio
I'm not going to defend Oak Cliff or Pleasant Grove, but uh, yes, the same can most definitely be said of certain parts of San Antonio. That said, I agree with the poster who said city smack is weak.

seriously leave city smack out of this.

those who know me (if any) know that you can say whatever you want about the Mavs no matter how bad, it will never offend me in anyway. but when you talk bad about a city it gets into personal reasons.

i've been to SA and i feel its a nice place, and Dallas has its nice parts. just leave it at that. its a basketball forum

which parts of San antonio would you not drive through out of curiosity? Since they got rid of victoria courts I really can't think of any part of town I have felt like I might catch a stray bullet driving through.

By the way, I have cowboys season tickets so i am in Dallas a lot. to me it is a nice city, lots of good things to do, nice restaraunts some good clubs, all in all not bad. Now that they are tearing down some of the crappy apartments in downtown and replacing them with luxury condos it is getting much nicer.

I have two homes one for work on the island and the other for play in my favorite city in the USA, San Antonio. Cities up north get too cold. Cities in Florida are too rude, Dallas is too redneck, California has too much tax. San Antonio is the best little big city in the world. Period.

San Antonio is not the most attractive city especially with that stinky river. So you are going to the finals. You still have to live there!

What you really meant to say was, "So you are going to the finals--again" right?

Lessee, Dallas. What's Dallas known for?

Killing presidents, strippers and choking in the playoffs.

Really not built for tourism. But Victory Park will be nice once finished. They are developing a nice neighborhood in uptown. But yeah, tourism is not Dallas strong point.

I've noticed that Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio are aparantly all on different planets of something. And there is plenty of smack between the three cities. I WANT to say that it's friendly ribbing, but I don't know at times.
