I know for real! i already knew rashad's cardio wasnt amazing from the Salmon fight, but man I dont think o trained as hard as he usually does.
o gas'd pretty hard in the 3rd...![]()

overall that was a ty card for a card that was named stacked, o vs rashad was the worst fight of the night imo and nog got lucky
He was a little lucky that Herring chose to stand him up, but few would've been in a position to keep the fight going at all. He kept his composure in a spot where few others could've...
If anything, he was more UNLUCKY in my opinion because he destroyed Herring for 14+ min's and was caught ducking into a goofy kick that hit on a sweet spot...
I thought the card was great top to bottom.
I would say Heath was more stupid than Nog was lucky. I am extremely disappointed in Heath.

I loved the card, top 5 UFC cards of all time. o-Rashad was a decent fight if you ignore the outcome.
I really enjoyed the card. The decisions weren't boring IMO.
Nog is one of the few people in the world that could come back from a kick like that and continue to dominate. I would love to see him match up with Tim Silvia but it sounds like there's different plans for him.
No kidding...a good way to have one of the top "Pride HW's" lose is to have them fight each other. We're really getting to see all of the "dream matchups"...

Seriously, we've seen Nog vs Crocop...and Crocop isn't fighting til Sept 8th...so Nog is going to wait til Dec or so to fight?? ing stupid...
1st death at a UFC event??? Odd

^Little correction. Sakurai debuted in UFC back in '02.![]()
the card was stacked but the fights sucked, o vs rashad was very boring most of the fight was o trying to take rashad down and rashad fighting it off, sherk vs franca was super one sided and silva destroyed nate
You know what that tells me?
That they realized during his physical that Nog is on his last leg and to stretch him out they need to keep his fighting to a minimal.
True...I just glanced thru that and pasted it. Most forget that he lost to Hughes at UFC 36...
Here's the fight...

Sherdog's minute by minute...![]()

10:03 p.m. A shamelessly hyperbolic Mike Goldberg intones that he's about to bear witness to the "greatest card top to bottom in the history of combat sports." The 2000 PRIDE Grand Prix Finals DVD sits on my shelf, silently contradicting him.
10:04 p.m. Goldberg takes a bite of a Baconator from Wendy's and declares it "Quite simply, better than filet mignon. My taste buds are on a meteoric rise."
10:09 p.m. Amp'd Mobile, which recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy elective reorganization, emerges as a still-viable sponsor.
10:22 p.m. Despite a brisk stand-up pace early in the first, the mouth-breathers in ARCO Arena are booing. Thunderdome really was a poor precedent. Thanks for nothing, Mel.
10:34 p.m. Herring escapes a cross-face submission, a less-than-finesse move that involves running your forearm across your opponent's mug and squeezing until you hear something like a saltine cracker being crunched.
11:05 p.m. Franca loses top position in less than 10 seconds. Controlling Sherk is like trying to hold down a monkey on cocaine. In other words, good f--king luck.
12:26 a.m. Hovering over Marquardt, Silva rocks Nate with punches and gets a stoppage victory. Rich Franklin (Pictures) sighs heavily.
12:36 a.m. It's a good scrap between Florian and Robinson. Too bad most of the arena is barfing cheap beer out in the parking lot by now. Robinson taps from strikes.
12:38 a.m. Post-fight, Florian says he's a lightweight that finishes fights. Sherk briefly looks up at the backstage television, then resumes polishing his belt.

If you think Sherk is a little boring...
http://fightlinker.com/?p=294
simple but telling stats regarding Sean Sherk’s UFC record:
7 fights
5 wins
2 losses

here is the counterpoint to how good he is...stats from the Franca fight.
http://fightlinker.com/?p=302
18 takedowns
17 guard passes
3 mounts
5 Crucifix’s
All against a BJJ black belt.
Nate Marquardt had some McDonalds after the fight...

Drugs in mma....this is getting bad. Bad Bad Bad.
Another fighter complaining about money.
something to point out....off the top of my head...its seems some around 90% of fighters who test positive fail the fight. Odd eh? Wonder if its because of bad flexibility due to roids.
Sherk too!!![]()

Ridiculous...you KNOW you get tested in le fights. WTF??
So what happens to the LW belt?? BJ Penn vs Joe Stevenson or another top contender??
Oh Gawd.......
This is going to blow the door off everything....
This is awful........
I hope they take away his belt.
They have to I think...he's suspended for a year. They stripped Barnett back in the day...
Unbelievable. I agree, they should take his belt away. Let Stevenson and BJ battle it out for the le. Dana needs to step up and make an example out of somebody because this is getting ridiculous.
They will take away his belt. Didn't they for Tim and Josh?
This is so bad. Both fighters for a le fight tested positive.
Dana has to do a life ban or something to save face.
OMG........
I am seriously bummed.
