Your stupidity continues to amaze, Jeff...
Comedy Gold! SpursDynasty you are on fire! This is what we know and love!
that would be a good skill to have, wouldn't it?
C'mon, don't confront him with facts and logic...I want more of his great takes on the NBA. He's on fire in this thread!
I think that if there was one skill that I would want in life, that would be it.that would be a good skill to have, wouldn't it?
Getting shots to go down at the right time.
Players have had very good careers and have won many championships with just that skill (Kerr is the first name that comes to mind, Horry would be a close second, though he had other aspects of his game)
I that it theat sense the Mavs have two players on their team that "Gets get shots to go down at the right time", that they are in good shape ... I think that was a complement .. Wow, thanks SD ... What you just said was that Howard and Stackhouse are about as Clutch as it gets .. If thats the definition (Getting shots to fall at the right time)
The playoffs don't lie.
But you do...like claiming that all of your predictions here have been correct...![]()
Thank you, thats all we are trying to say. Dirk was Clutch in one series and not in the next ... I have no problem with that. The playoffs don't lie.
I would like my star player to be clutch when facing all teams, but if I listed the teams that I would most often want him to be clutch against, Spurs would be on the top, followed by the Rockets ... You can go ahead and clump every other team in a different group.
Its like the Cowboys, we want them to win all the games, but more so against the Giants, Eagles and Redskins.
Clutch means making shots to help your team win. I have hardly seen that of Dirk lately. He makes shots yes, like everyone does, but not in the manner of saving the game. Although his shots do save the games sometimes, his shots don't say "THIS IS CLUTCH".
everything is clear to us now...thank you Jeff!!
Mavs will never win a championship.....
why not? who's to say that won't happen? the Colts were never going to win a championship with that roster. who are you guys to say that a team will never ever win a championship? especially after we've already been to the Finals. the Spurs won a championship in 1999 but for the next three years they failed to do so. im sure Laker fans said they were over the hill and were done. turns out they weren't. will the Mavs win 3 les? who knows? thats the thing, you cant count a team out just because of a bump in the road. especially a team that has already shown they have the tools to win it all
Colts didnt lose in the Superbowl, Spurs didnt lose in the finals, Lakers won 3 in a row and then broke up after losing in the finals in 04. I call losing in the finals/championship round in heartbreaking fashion more than just a bump in the road. All those teams lost in non-championship games (excluding the 04 lakers) The first 3 rounds is one thing to lose/fold under pressure but it is another thing to lose like the way the Mavs did in a championship round.
Hey, but they(they being, all fans incl. many mavs fans) say that about the Rockets too. B/C of the 04-05 rockets-mavs series loss and the next year with all the injuries and then this year losing again in 7 games.
The Mavs need a dominant low post scorer, and then bingo....NBA rings. Had Shaq gone to Dallas and not Miami.....bingo. Who else can you all get b/c Damp, Diop and Mbenga are not the answer.
Yes, but if you treat the word of Donnie Nelson and Mark Cuban as Gospel like every other pom-pom waving Mavs fan on this site, then you'd have to say "PFFFFTTTTT, the Lakers were NEVER going to trade Shaq to another Western Conference team!"
Funny how two games into the 2006 NBA Finals every Mavs fan was saying "LMAO we're so ing glad Mark Cuban didn't want to trade Dirk for Shaq" but a few months later that got turned into "LMAO they were never going to trade Shaq to Dallas"
But for pointing out all the fallacies of the Mavericks, I'm a bad fan. So it.
Since Dallas is on the decline, this will be a rebuilding year as the Dallas Mavs will probably look to trade off Dirk, Howard, and Terry for more badass players.
blame Cuban for that. he refused to trade Dirk out to LA for Qhaq.![]()
im still not sure if that would've done it. Miami clearly needed another superstar to get the job done which is what Wade did in the Finals. if we did a Dirk for Shaq trade, we still would've lacked a true superstar.
(you're probably the first guy on here to use the word bingo, two sentences in a row)
Refusing to throw the entire team under a bus doesn't make anybody a blind homer. Like 29 other teams, the Mavs came up short this year and the year before. You keep distorting the arguments others make into convenient strawmen. I have yet to see a single Mavs fan insisting everything is okay and this team is without flaws. You don't really seem to enjoy being a Mavs fan.
Edit: I'm not saying you're a bandwagoner or a fair-weather fan, I know you have the bona fides to prove otherwise, but you portray anybody that disagrees with you as a head-in-the sand Pollyanna and you're negative way out of proportion to how this team has performed. What exactly would you have them do personnel-wise that they haven't? What dominant playmaking PG would you have them trade for? What back to the basket low-post scorer do you want them to bring in? Since you rag on this team endlessly, put on your GM cap and tell us what you would do.

SpursDynasty is STONE COLD. Memo to Cuban: Fire Donnie and get the IP address of SpursDynasty. We need to hire the sharp young brain behind this handle.
so you're saying that since the Mavs lost in the Finals instead of one round before it means that they cannot win a championship because of a one round difference? if you believe that, then i will have to disagree with you. if the Colts continually lost in the Super Bowl instead of the AFC championships, i think they would've been in the same position, no?
?
spursreport is a re , I've bothered with him way too many times. He can't even keep his story straight: one minute he's arguing that the Mavs are a jump-shooting team and thus as constructed are fatally flawed to win a le. In the next breath, he says they choked away a le and Miami didn't win one so much as Dallas lost one. I wish he'd pick a lane and stick to it. He's one of those Spurs fans that prayed and prayed for somebody to take care of Dallas so the Spurs wouldn't have to face us. He only shows up on Spurstalk when the subject is the Dallas Mavericks. If the Mavs were as insignificant as he claims, then he'd never talk about them, ala the Grizzlies, Hawks, Bucks, etc. It's just fear since we're the only team that can beat San Antonio.
im worried if we can beat anybody else.
right now San Antonio is far from my mind, i just want to be able to win a playoff series again. it would be nice if other teams grew a pair and knocked out the Spurs atleast once (Suns)
I would agree, after Golden State, it's walk before you can run. I was just speaking as to the re ation of SpursDynasty and spursreport.
yes! Do it! Do anything to get us some of those 'badass' players!!
YES TO BADASS PLAYERS!!!
According to SpursDynasty, we should trade Dirk for Sean May. He's a dominant low-post back to the basket scorer. And we should get rid of spot-up shooter JET for playmaking Raymond Felton. Of course, Charlotte isn't stupid enough to make that trade, so we're ed.
Dallas can't beat the Spurs in the playoffs and didn't this year. Otherwise, the Spurs wouldn't have the trophy if Dallas beat them, right?
It's not that we're afraid of Dallas, I'm just trying to downplay the significance of Dallas in the NBA right now since everyone thinks they are still the #1 contender. They just lost in the first round. Same with Houston. They just lost in the first round, and everyone is picking Dallas and Houston give the Spurs problems next year. It could take some time before some of you gain some sense back. The Spurs are headed for a 65-70 win season if they feel like it for the 2007-2008 season.
I would expect SA to run over any and all compe ion next year. They might get bored a few nights and accidentally drop some games, but it won't be a big deal because it will be the regular season, not the playoffs.
That's how LeBron got his 2 wins vs SA, and Dallas got their 3 wins, and Houston and Utah got their 2 wins, and Lakers got 3 wins. If the Spurs had felt like playing in those games, that's 12 more wins. Spurs would have finished 70-12.
