i think backe has been throwing for a bit, but there's no reason to rush him. we're not playing the cards in the playoffs, and that's the only time he's consistent.

Yeah he has been having rehab starts in minor league. I think he has gone 7 innings in one of his starts. Well he has fire though, he is a passionate player and we need that right now. Who is taking Sampson's spot?
sampson is going to be a relief pitcher rest of season... to keep his innings pitched down.
albers will probably stay in the rotation for sampson.
gutierrez is going to start thursday in place of Oswalt who will miss one start.
hopefully patton will be called up to take jennings starts.
hopefully backe will be called up in a few starts either bullpen or replace albers in the rotation moving him to the pen.
and they better call up JR Towles.
ive heard a lot about Patton but have yet to see him pitch. Is he a lefty?
