Is anyone doing anything interesting this weekend?

Well our plan was to celebrate our 10th wedding Anniversary this weekend. We planned a party for Saturday night, sent out the invites, stocked the bar and bought the dead cow for the barbecue and smoker and then I was awakened Friday morning by a phone call from my doctor telling me that my WBC,RBC, HCT and hemoglobin were all very low and I needed to go to the emergency room.
So instead of a party this weekend, I got transfused with 3 units of blood, have been enduring come painful injections to boost my white and red cell counts and getting IV antibiotics for a kidney infection they found after I got to the ER. I just got out of the hospital this afternoon.
The worst part was that there was no Internet access at the hospital. I thought for sure at a swanky hospital like N.C. Methodist in Stone Oak I would be able to hop on the information highway for a daily fee or something. No such luck. It's good to be home... I missed my DSL/cable.

Oh well, at least now I've had an oil change so I should be good to go for a while but I'm ready to break in this new blood at the Ladies Lunch and see how it mixes with alcohol.

That sucks.

Woke up and fixed bacon and eggs for breakfast, then around 11, we hauled a cooler full of adult beverages down to the Frio, planted our chairs in the water and proceeded to do nothing but sit, talk, and drink until about 5.

It was rough, but someone had to do it.
