timvp vs. whottt mega-arguments

What is funny about the whotttttimvpwarrrs of 2007 is that (not counting 10000+ posting legit ST posters who truely voice an individual opinion) EVERY mofo here agrees with timvp blindly. Don't get me wrong. Timvp is smart as , I agree with most of what he has ever said. But most people instantly rhetorically bow down and place their lips around timvp's mvp. Yet he'll scoff me on two different forums at once cuz I'll take whottt's back. Whottt is cool, presents a unique opinion and CBF has a history of going against the grain. But Shoog had that last option on the poll and that takes precedence over any intraforum brawl.

i suggested some time ago that Kori should create a pinned thread called "Behind the Barn." Any time a couple of posters got into one of those interminable back and forth personal arguments off the subject the rest of us could tell them to take it "Behind the Barn" and they'd have to leave the thread and go argue by themselves.

The only problem with this is that they love the attention they THINK they are getting while most of us simply leave the thread and go do something useful.

If there was any option involving a barn, we'd never see a tlong post ever again.

I think they both have good points from time to time, timvp is a little nicer in how he expresses them, but sarcasm and smack talk is like a second language to me so whottt's weird analogies and at ude don't bother me. Sometimes the arguments are fun to read, sometimes it's like a girlfight and it makes me want to start an underground dogfighting ring and brutally murder the dogs that don't win.

I saw him viewing this thread the second I posted a reply. That happens all the time, big deal right. But don't you see? If he replies, saying ANYTHING, whatsoever, there will be at least two, maybe even three upper mid tier spurstalk posters who instantly back him up and scoff me, thus proving my post.

Timvp is smart, i say this all the time. He's not replied cuz i put it straight up. Let's see what knight to king's rook two does to timvp cuz I honestly don't know how he'll react after this post, hopefully he doesn't invis or ban me, cuz that would be overkill.

If he doesn't reply it seems to the layman that CBF is a loudmouth with the upper hand.
If he does, he scoffs the CBF, but shortly thereafter it is revealed that the CBF is right.

What have been the 2007 whottt vs. timvp talking points of 2007? You have the Scola trade, Francisco Elson and small ball as the three main points.

Regarding the Scola trade, nowadays most Spurs fans either have moved on passed the trade or are fine with the trade. You can't count the Spurs fans who are genuinely mad about the trade still on one hand (and I'm not talking about Argentines who follow the Spurs because of the Argentines on the team). I don't see anyone running to my defense regarding ripping the Scola trade. Regarding Elson, I was biggest Elson hater the whole season while whottt was on the other side. Who were the people who said I was right on Elson ... before he flamed out in the playoffs? And small ball ... I said small ball sucked except in certain situations where it could be useful. whottt and almost everyone else on the forum said it sucked no matter what.

Where are all these people who agree with me? Let's see some examples.

And here's a hint for you, when me and whottt are arguing, I'm almost always taking the less popular angle. If whottt is arguing an angle that has most of the forum against him (examples being Cavs in five, Spurs won't win with Finley, etc.), I let the rest of the forum handle it. I only step in when whottt is toeing the company line and I see it another way.

I don't know why you don't think I'm not a fan of the CBF. I scoffed you for your whottt love but I scoff all of my favorite posters. I scoff people like whottt, ChumpDumper and Bruno all the time and those guys are some of the best posters on the site.

I have no problem with the CBF. He's one of my favorite posters on the forum. He's always good for the laugh and isn't afraid to give his take even if he has to rile up a certain sect on the board.

I can't give away all my secrets but some posters are more entertaining when I make them hate me. And as those four above posts show, you are one entertaining fellow when you get riled up.

We must be reading different forums because I don't see much of timvp reveling in compliments. And if I lived for compliments, I'd align more of my takes with the company line. Why go take the less popular route if all I want is compliments?

I would have gotten more compliments if I would have said Elson is the best center for his price or that Scola was a scrub and to trust the front office. With my against the grain takes, I get a lot more people telling me I'm off base than giving me compliments.
