I was bringing my daughter home from confirmation class and we live in the country. The only thing between Church and my home is Taco Bell or Sonic for fast food. The Taco Bell isn't even a stand alone. It's one of those 3/4 gas station 1/4 Taco . I don't even think the Sonic was still open.
But I'm surprised to hear all these complaints about Jack-In-The-Box. I have always had the best and friendliest service there. The one at 1604/281N rocks. My eggrolls were overdone at the new one at Evans/281 but I figure they'll learn how to cook them after being open a few months. They were really nice and eager to please.

Worst drive-through experience was at a DQ:
Speaker: What would you like?
Me: I'd like a large strawberry milkshake
Speaker: Large strawberry milkshake, what would you like to drink?
Me: Large strawberry milkshake?
Speaker: Large strawberry milkshake, what size?
Me: Large strawberry milkshake!
Speaker: Large strawberry milkshake, what flavor?
Me: Large...strawberry...milkshake...only.
I think we are neighbors![]()

I would've just left after "what would you like to drink?"
I think you're right. I read one of your other posts one day and realized you live out this way. We live about a mile from Smithson Valley High School.![]()
Kewl. We're on Rebecca Creek Rd.
you must check your . otherwise you look like a fool cuz you didn't.
I'll never forget the time I went to Taco Bell and ordered a chicken quesadilla, but was told I couldn't have one because their "quesadilla machine" wasn't working. Several years later, and I'm still fascinated by the fact that making a quesadilla requires its own special machine.
I went once to a Wendy's with a friend, we were carpooling for work. She was a total ass from the moment she started ordering at the drive-thru.
"Make sure you give me my tomato on my chicken sandwich, because you didn't do that last time. And make sure the fries are fresh AND salted!"
Now, she may not have gotten her tomato last time and perhaps the fries were sitting around and unsalted. But that doesn't mean she should just assume it's the same people there this time and that they are morons (particularly with the high turnover of places like this). I was totally embarassed.
Well, we get to the cafeteria at work with an hour before our shift and sit down to our meal. I took her fries out and I swear, they looked like they were covered in snow, they had so much salt on them. Not only that, whoever was back there not only put enough salt to saturate them, but then carefully put about six of the little to-go salt packs in the fry carton. Strategically placed, I might add.
Well, I just busted out laughing. I know some of you will disagree with me here but she was being a total ass in assuming they were all idiots who would up her order. She was VERY condescending in her tone as well, slowing her speech down as if they were too stupid to understand her order at regular talking speed. So, I thought it served her right. She was furious but I was cracking up. They obviously paid verrrry close attention to what she wanted. The fries were indeed fresh, and VERY salted.
Maybe they couldn't figure out how to make it without their George Foreman Sandwich Grill.

She sounds like my aunt, who goes into every single restaurant, even ones she's never been to, assuming that everyone's an idiot and the service will be horrible. It's a miserable experience for the rest of us, and I've actually apologized to the wait staff and added to the tip because of her behavior.
Yeah, I used to go out to lunch occasionally with someone who always had a complaint about something (the food, the service, how long the wait was, etc...). They would always start with "I don't mean to complain, but...". It always drove me crazy because I just wanted to enjoy the food.
".......and then?????"
"No 'and then'"!"
".......and then?????"
"No 'and then'"!"
Your friend sounds like she got what she deserved. I worked for Whataburger back in highschool and I'll tell you, we didn't put up with . And its always women too. Im sure they also spit in your friends burger, that I can promise you they did.
Man, I love Chi-fil-a for breakfast.
If you'd have it your way you'd never have any problems.
The way I figure, if you are getting fast food, assuming you aren't shorted anything, you are not allowed to complain. You go there with the express purpose of getting something quick and if someone forgets you said "no tomato or onion" then just take it off. Wanted ketchup but didn't get it? Deal. And fries, you take the way they are. Being fresh or stale is up to when they made them inside, not based upon your specific order.
Want the right to complain? Then go sit down and eat at a place where they work for tips.
It's called a drive-thru, and once your ass is through, you are through as well.
No I've never worked at any place like this, but yes I am a frequent customer. Taco Cabana has always messed up my order, and I've never complained.
I used to work with a lady who was very, shall we say...vocal about EVERYthing. When we would go eat out for lunch, after we'd placed our orders, she would say to the wait person "we're on our lunch hour so can you bring ours out a little earlier??"
I mean, wtf? I'm sure 75% of the other people in there at that time were also there on their lunch hour from work. Wasn't like we were an anomaly!
