That's why I'm saying he must stop the NT like Tim did.
And even with TP France suck
Glad to see you coming around to the idea that Parker is playing too many games.
Particularly since the Spurs have crap for a backup PG.

I've never said that Parker had to play with French NT.
I've just said that Spurs must respect Parker's choice.
I've too said that I would have nothing against Parker if he decided not to play with French NT.
I just said it's nice to see you cominng around to the point of view and actively stated that Parker needs to cut back. Far as I know that's the first time you expressed that opinion but I could be wrong. Here's a thread where you can show me differently.
Facts are changed with this loss : Parker will have to play more games and the goal to win an Olympic medal isn't realistic.

I was saying that one month ago.
I'm just saying now that he must even more consider the rest option because of these new facts.
Parker will likely choose to play with French NT next summer if they are qualified, I don't think it will be the best choice but I will respect it.
Parker is trapped. I'm guessing he's realizing this heavy play is very, very likely shortening his career and his total career earnings. Compounding this is the fact the Spurs have found nothing but crappy PGs to back him up so he needs to play heavy minutes in the regular sesaon.
Russia's height + FIBA ruels : less opportunities for Parker to score inside.
The most difficult thing in basketball is the end of the game
The spurs have TD and Manu for the clutch, the Cavs Lebron, the Nuggets Melo, and all the greatest teams too
Tony isn't a great clutch player, he need to improve un the clutch and to create great clutch plays, in the French NT he plays alone, he not have TD
Maybe now parker will start thinking like duncan "Fiba Sucks"![]()
waly.mg james is not clutch yet he maybe but not yet
his coach does not even want him on the line at the end of games
yeah because without duncan tp sucks![]()

manu does not need duncan with his national team because he has better players
yeah hitting that late three really was not clutch![]()

yeah the 3 was clutch for sure but missing the tie FT is not clutch.
Manu wouldn't have miss it.
With this crappy team and the stupid decision of the French coach to not select the best players available (Gelabale, Mike Pietrus, Petro..) makes me start to believe that it's useless for France to get a medal and TP will get tired, injured for nothing.
Even though a team composed of TP, Diaw, Diawara, Gelabale, Pietruses, Petro, Turiaf, Yohakim Noah... would make France very appealing! That's like the French dream team!
But we don't have any shooters and we suck at FT line!
Yeah that's why I'm thinking the coach is stupid as because I don't see Tony Parker playing 82 games+Playoff games+NBA finals 2008()+PreOlympics+Olympics(if qualifying)!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is crazy!!!
I really really can't stand it that woulb VERY VERY BAD for the Spurs !!
F**k France and the coach and F**k FIBA![]()
France has a good team.Nowitzki would be really happy if he could play with Tony's teammates instead of the players of Germany. We can't forget that Tony was the MVP of the finals because he plays in SA.He's not the best player of the NBA and he's not the best european player. He's not as great as Jordan,Wade or TD.And even Wade and Duncan had lost playing with their national team....
I'm pretty sure he will stay in the next European tournament in 2009
And let's not forget that TP's only 25. He had a over a very good, maybe not great tournament avg 22 ppg and 3 apg. Since he was France's best player, the opposing teams focus on Tony. If you're not getting alot of help from your teammates or coaches it's hard to sustain on your own. Remember he's just coming off a long long season with not a lot of rest in between; that may or may not have much to do with his lapses. In a lot of people's mind "right now" he may not be clutch, but I'd go to war anytime with TP on my team. He will continue to mature and develop both physically and mentally and I have a feeling if you're a fan of the opposing team, he will continue to rip your hearts out!
They all have their momens. Stricklands bad pass in Portland and Manu's foul on Dirk in game 7 are 1 ansd 2 or 2 and 1 as the most unclutch plays in Spurs history.
It may surprise you but I agree with you![]()
Do you really believe Petro is one of the best player available? In FIBA games?
Tony struggled last Eurobasket. He even got taken out of the starting line-up. Maybe international ball just isn't his thing.
I will state the obvious but the main reasons why France has lost games is because other teams are good.
France NT has more players than other teams in nba but other teams have very good Euroleague players who are as good/better than French nba players. The loss against Russia is disappointing but you have too to give credits to Russia. Russia is a good team and it's not a big surprise to see them beating France.
I don't blame Bergeaud for not having selected Mickael Pietrus and Petro. Mickael Pietrus has been horrible in FIBA events and wouldn't have been fully focused with his contract's troubles. Petro is an headcase and isn't that good.
If I had to blame him for something, it would be for Gelabale and for having chosen Ferchaud over Morandais. Gelablae has been very good with French NT and Ferchaud hasn't the level to play an eurobasket.
I think France will be qualified for the Olympic qualifying tournament and Parker will play it (he really wants to be at the Olympic games). I hope France NT will find some answers to its troubles. A player like Tony Stanley could really help them next summer.
I agree with you Bruno.
I also wonder why he picked Sangare over Bokolo. Bokolo may not be better than Sangare but at least he had some successfull experience with the French team.
Sangare was not ready to be Parker backup.
In Japan our offense was terrible but at least we could put presure on the oponent for 40 minutes. With Pietrus, Gelabale and Bokolo out we defended half a game.
Tony was the best French player on the tournament.
While Bokolo is better than Sangaré, he was too very tired after his season with Le Mans followed by workouts + summer league in the US. Giving him some rest was quite logical while he wasn't really needed with Jeanneau as backup PG.
IMHO, Bergeaud should have called back Bokolo instead of Giffa after Jeanneau injury. You could too blame Bergeaud for not having put Gomis as backup PG sooner in the eurobasket.
I suppose you would have said he would not foul in game 7 against the mavs with very few ticks left on the clock and cost the spurs the game either
