Got it and replied to it Kori.
Vague?
Really?
Got it and replied to it Kori.
I never said he was arrested but why put that they found a gun and weed in the victims party when the shooting was a random event
And the far-down-the-list thing is that Mark is blaming the media for reporting what the police are saying.
Mark has every right to tell somebody his side of the story.
Do shooting victims normally get arrested?
I don't think he is blaming the media for anything. I think he just doesn't want people to think like they were out looking for trouble. Some people may think that when they either read or hear the story thats all.
, the KENS story doesn't even say the driver was arrested or that anything was found in the car.
doesn't matter if they do. put yourself in his place and you read that article or worse even what if he did god forbid die and would never have been able to tell his side and all his family knows was that there was a car shot up with 2 dead and a guns and drugs were found. Batman himself was angry at the article because he sounds like he was doing something wrong
Some people think that anybody who is shot has something shady going on. That's just life.
I'm normally a skeptical person, which is probably why I do what I do, but the skepticism lets me be skeptical of everybody until I find out more.
No matter the actual events of last night I think the most important thing is that Batman gets better. Don't you all agree?
Actually, it matters tons if they do. The story becomes far more rare if a victim is arrested.
So what's your solution? So which information would you like the media to hold back? Which media members would you like to make that determination?
And my guess is Mark's family and friends would be more likely to give him the benefit of the doubt you so seek.
For once I agree with Ashbeeigh
Prayers to Batman and his recovery.
Well, he was riding in a car with someone who had a gun, weed and brass knuckles.
I'm not going to get into the legalities of marijuana possession because personally, I think it should be legalized, but there was somebody arrested for what was likely two charges (possession of marijuana -- and as of right now, that is illegal) and gun possession (if he had a carry permit, it would be just fine).
I really don't care what he was doing at the time or who he was with. Just the fact that he is doing better is all that matters.
As do I. I hope Mark makes a speedy and full recovery. I know he's gone through some before and always seems to come out standing, so I don't doubt he will in this situation.
But Mo, either he does blame the media (as Orion has said) or he doesn't (as you have said).
It could have been worse, though... he could have been part of that group of eight arrested for fighting downtown.
I think he feels some people may get the wrong idea when they hear or read the story.
God Save Batman! You gots major street cred now brah!
I saw it on the news yesterday.
It's weird that it was him.
Getting shot sucks.
I hope he gets better.
Look, there's pretty much no doubt about that at all. As I said before, some people believe that anybody who gets shot likely did something bad to deserve it. I've experienced it first-hand.
It sucks, but it happens.
My very first crime story in San Angelo was a drive-by shooting that resulted in murder. Two guys shot into a house and a guy was killed. He wasn't the direct target, but was only there to watch a PPV fight.
He also had a criminal record. I remember that the days I had a story about the case or a brief with an update, there was always somebody talking about it at the little taco shop where I ate breakfast before work.
The guy's criminal record had nothing to do with the case and frankly, I didn't write about his record as it had nothing to do with his murder, but the people I heard talking about the case knew somebody who knew somebody who was arrested with the guy and they were dead certain that must have been the reason he was shot.
What was even weirder about the case was that there were rumors around the city that one of the shooters (or his friends, I forget ATM) had boasted he was going to retaliate against the guy that was shot, but the drive-by shooting wasn't specifically supposed to be against the guy who ended up getting shot. It seemed to be a weird coincidence.
regardless of what I think should be report doesn't matter but the media could at least take into consideration who might be affected.
