Look, a lot of the movies being thrown out are great movies, but are the endings really stand-out in the sense the article means? Something really apart from the ordinary fare or the neatly tied package?
I'd have to go with Se7en, with Empire Strikes Back, 6th Sense as really being out there in a good way.

Yeah, it sort of does, if they'd just ended it at Clark Gable leaving. But no, they had to show how strong and independent Scarlett O'Hara is. . . sigh.
Earn This.

Now in the sense of a neatly tied package, it was a ed up ending, but in a way it was a neatly tied package.
The Life of David Gale.
Rocky 1, 2. Worst has to be TDK.
Se7en
6th sense
usual suspects
primal fear
I liked the corny and predictable ending of Arlington Road.
I'm not sure how either Empire or Aliens make any great ending list, but perhaps great plot twist movies, however the end of Aliens was the same as the ending for Alien, and the first one's plot twist was better. As for Empire, I remember sitting in the theater at the end going, "It can't be over...they haven't rescued Han!"
Seven, Jacob's Ladder, Presumed Innocent, and 12 Monkeys are some of my favorites.
Oh, and the ending of The Prestige completely caught me by surprise.
La Strada
Breathless
Blowup
A Clockwork Orange
Trainspotting
honorable mention:
The Graduate
Memento
Raising Arizona
