i am seeing my favorite movie of the year tomorrow - NATIONAL TREASURE 2: BOOK OF SECRETS!!!!!!!!!!
3:10 to Yuma is disqualified for me due to the horrible horrible ending. Great movie, until the end. I'm currently watching Eastern Promises and so far its great.
Superbad was excellent and made me laugh to an insane degree so its up there.
However, if I had to pick best movie of the year for me so far it would have to be the Bourne Ultimatum. It was just really really really good.
Really too hard to pick just one this year. Maybe, if I hadn't seen so many films it'd be easier to pick 2 or 3, but it's tough to exclude great films from a personal-favorites list.
Some really strong comedies came out, so I'll break my favorites up into "comedy" and "non-comedy".

I just saw that last week and thought it was pretty damn good, but for some reason I expected it to be better.
Saw that last night.......besides the nakedness that fight scene in the bath house was pretty bad ass.
I have been wanting to watch rescue dawn, was it that good?
I loved it. Bale's performance is one of the best of the year, and Zahn is great too. The cinematography is superb. Some of the pan-from-side-to-side shots in the jungle are amazing. I'm not too familiar with Werner Herzog, but I'm certainly a fan now.
I forgot to mention one of the best Sci-Fi / Fantasy movies of the year (no exaggeration). Never saw the first, but this sequel was such a pleasant suprise. I need to grab it on DVD.
Bale is a really ing good actor. I don't think I've ever seen him mess up a role. Ever.
Me personally,
I liked the PIrates of the Carribean movie, and Ocean's 13.
Didn't get to see much else.
i saw avp-r earlier, it was hilarious.
I still haven't seen several movies I have on my watch list.
But the top five I have seen this year.

LOL manny do you have a hard on for Bale??? I do admit he is a great actor, but he will never top his performance in American Psycho!!
I didn't expect to like Ratatouille as much as I did, but when I look back on the year (one that was just ok for movies) I enjoyed that one the most.
Rescue Dawn, Hot Fuzz, Black Snake Moan, Gone Baby Gone, Lust, Caution, No Country for Old Men were all great as well.
Haven't seen Atonement, The Kite Runner, Juno or Black Book yet though (haven't opened where I'm at).

Am I the only one who was kind of dumbfounded by No Country for Old Men... maybe I should have paid attention during the rambling dialogue... What kind of ending was that? Somebody please explain....
