Taxes are a that way. That and having to buy your own insurance are perhaps the two biggest drawbacks. But the rest is awesome![]()
I'm really fearing how badly I'm going to get ed on taxes this year because of the few months I did a lot of work for Prime Time as a freelancer.

I think Ten Buck Tammy has the same issues.
I put 0 allowances on my W-4 and expect my biggest tax return ever, which will go towards savings and vacation. If I get the $800, I plan on buying a lot of shoes and using it as spending cash when I'm on vacation.
Big dreams.
Damn you, Shoog.
But if I was doing THAT kind of freelancing, I am positive that I would not be getting the refund, since I would be earning more than the income threshold. Because I would be one of those "high-class" escorts from Chopper's thread![]()
Insurance is such a . I'm spending like $2,000 a year on health care a year ( added it up to see if it was worth picking up the company insurance this past week).
The one that always gets me to frothing at the mouth and cussin' for a couple of months is the Self Employment Tax
Uncle Sam thanks you for the interest-free loan you gave him.
Is that your share of the company insurance, or is that the cost of the entire policy?
I'm going to pay medical bills with my rebate.
They're not really clear if that is wage income (gross) or AGI from your return.
That's my independent health care costs with insurance, medical bills and medicine included.
If it does come I'll be giving it right to the IRS since they're taxing me on my AmeriCorps education award.
With me, you always get a good ruturn for your money.
Thank you.
Jesus. How nice of them!
damnit. You a smart cookie. I should probably do something like that too. Except you have the full year right? I have the quarter educational reward.
Seriously, and it would have been nice of them to let me know about it instead of all of a sudden finding out that I now have $4725 of untaxed "income" to deal with on this return. I'm still not sure how they expected me to be able to save up for that while making $800/mo after taxes during my AmeriCorps term ...
It's something to consider - I wish someone had told me beforehand that it was taxable - I would have tried to figure out a way to deal with it, because it is the full year.
jekka just marry a doctor already
Sucks for me I fall into that makes to much class![]()
When I wrote my original post, I was basing my info off of the same source S y mentioned and was going by the $110,000 cap. But if it's $300,000 then I'm still in the running. In today's paper there is an article that I just skimmed, but it seemed to suggest that it might be done differently. From the bottom up.... They might not tax any income for the first $8,000 (single) or 16K (married) which would mean anyone not making enough to pay taxes would not get the rebate. I didn't get to read the artice closely but it did say the details had not been decided yet. So I suppose it's any one's guess at this point.
I am going to have my fully functional tail removed.
... or at least someone with realistic ambitions.
