Good thing basketball exists in our world today because who knows what that dumbass would be doing right now for a living. I used to think Shaq was dumb then Amare came along although in Shaq's case, it's mostly because of the way he looks, talks...etc. Amare is just a plain idiot.

Shaq is NOT dumb. He falls under the same category as Amare. False sense of self-importance, but he's still a very smart guy. Same can be said about Kobe, Tiki Barber etc.

I've asked you guys to tell me why you believed Amare was dumb and all I've seen is
1) Leaving the bench in last years playoffs
2) Doing pushups
3) Commiting too many fouls
In a game where players like Ron Artest, Josh Howard, Nate Robinson, Carmelo Anthony etc etc etc are suspended for running out of nowhere and punching another player in the head, how can you attack Amare for taking a few steps away from the bench after watching his teammate get body-checked into a table? I can think of a dozen other incidents where a fight occured and players did something much dumber than what Amare did. Why single him out? What makes him different from Boris Diaw?
I don't know why doing pushups makes someone dumb. This is just stupid.
As for the fouls "argument", Amare is 39th in the league in fouls/48 minutes. Its still too high and he needs to obviously get better. But this is less than Fabricio Oberto.

I find Amare dumb because he could've been one of the greats if he would've just worked on his defense. He's been in this league what..6 years? Is that correct? I think with Amare's talent we wish he wasn't so stupid, but he is.
I remember last year when Amare made some ill-advised comments against the Spurs, Coach Pop could only respond with a "he's young." comment, which was basically a euphemism for dumb.
The difference between self-centered asses and Amare's comments with statements like "they adore me" is that when someone says something like that it has more to do with a lack-of-self-awareness/obliviousness.
