    4) At the same time Lebron sat out a bunch of games because of a sprained hand
Which is smart. the team is nothing without him (0-8, i think) if he ended up making the injury worse by playing through it the cavs would probably miss the playoffs.

    it's the EAST, nuff said.

CP3 has managed to give his team the best record in th WEST. Not only that, he's made his teamates significantly better. U think West would have been an all star player if he played on a team w/o Paul? And Peja had flew off the face of the earth until this season.

Lebron and Kobe are amazing individual talents, but Cp3 is more valuable to his team because he makes them all a lot better...not just himself.

It's funny because everyone keeps saying the MVP race is so close this year, where I think Chris Paul is the runaway choice.

Unfortunately, Kobe will probably get it.
Couldn't agree more. Kobe is a good pick too though. I don't know if he makes everyone him better, but he does make it easy for others on that team because of all the attention he demands. His defense has been awesome this year as well. It always gets overlooked because of his offensive talent. However, CP3 should get it, but I doubt he will

I don't think KG even deserves a mention. With PP and Ray Allen on the team, how do you make a case for MVP?

Tim Duncan will win the MVP, if the following items occur:

    1) Duncan leads Spurs to # 1 seed in West.

    2) Duncan averages over 20 points per game.

    3) Duncan leads Spurs in scoring.

    4) Duncan averages over 10 rebounds per game.

Right now, the Spurs are tied for best in the West in the loss column. They are 5 games behind Boston in the loss column and 3 games behind Detroit in the loss column.

Duncan is 11 points short of averaging 20 per game, and his production has been up. One game of 31 points gets him there.

Duncan is a lock to average 10 rebounds, he has 579 rebounds in 50 games, 79 over.

Ginobili recently passed Tim up in scoring. If Tim averaged 21 points in the remaining 28 games, and Ginobili averages 19 points, Tim will catch him. With Parker back, that is likely.

If Duncan is only 2nd in scoring for the Spurs, then he will still win the MVP, if he breaks 20 ppg and the Spurs have the best record in the NBA.

I'm not saying he should have not sat out. But this is the difference between Kobe and LeBron. Kobe is not willing to let his team lose those 8 games while Lebron is. Even the guys on TNT were laughing at Lebron for sitting out and letting his team get beaten up with a mild sprain....something along the lines of "Man up, your team needs you"

This alone makes LeBron lose in the MVP race to Kobe.

CP3 could win if his team ends up ahead of the Lakers but I see Hornets sliding down to 7-8 seed and that won't get him an MVP.

Timmy is pacing himself through the season this year, he's not close in the MVP race.

    Chris Paul.

pre-trade lineups, lakers has a better lineup than the hornets and yet paul led his team to the top spot. he also made an all-star out of his teammates who otherwise wouldn't even be considered without him.

hopefully, the media voters wouldn't forget timmy or manu this time.

Tim is near the league lead in efficiency per 48 minutes, He's basically to co-leading scorer on his team, and he more than doubles, if not triples his nearest teammate in rebounding and blocks.

Plus his team is the # 2 seed in the West as i write this.

How could anyone be more valuable than that?

He's also on a rebounding tear since he got back from his injury.

Duncan's League MVP days are behind him.

I'm hoping to see him raise another Finals MVP.

CUBES’ MVPs: We asked Mavs owner Mark Cuban for his so-far NBA MVP. With no hesitation, he fired back: “Manu, Chris Paul. … and then Kobe.’’

If Manu won the MVP it would show the NBA how screwed up all the fans are when voting for the All-Star game.

Lets get this straight Duncan out-rebounding Garnett by a ton, and scoring about the same on a team that was missing key pieces longer.

Garnett gets this award it is a shame. He could not even get a team to sniff the playoffs then gets with two stars and is carried again - just like his MVP year when Cassell won more games with clutch shots.

Garnett is not and should not ever be a MVP!
I'm getting sick of the KG hype around the press..He's definitly deserving of him helping the Celtics to an incredible record. He brings tough Defense nd offensively a huge presence. But Pierce is right up there and everybody's contributing on that team. Perkins, Powe, Big Baby...Sorry but they're all better than our bigs (except Kurt).
If people are not taking his Stats into consideration than Duncan should 've deserved 5 MVP's by now.

They need to just rename it the Lebron James award, so they can give it to Kobe or Paul with a clear conscience.
