if they did the Noche Latina jerseys properly, the names on the back would be in Blackletter.

Maybe San Antonio's heritage consists of people that don't talk good in two lingos.

Or the announcers calling them by the equivalent of their name in Spanish...

    "Con el número 21....Timoteoooo Duncan!"

    "Con el número 9....Antonio Parkerrrrr!"

"Con el número 4.... Miguel Finleyyy!"

    "Entrenador.... Gregorio Popovich!"

Actually...they should just skip the entire idea.

It's lame. But that's just how we call them, "los spurs", at least here in argentina.

The town would be "Saint Anthony" ?

The Dallas Mavericks would never stoop to such pandering to an ethnic group.

Host “Big Kev” will dress the part, wearing a sombrero to tip-off the celebration.

My boy Kevin Brock in a sombrero? This I gotta see.

It makes sense. My mother's side of the family is from Nicaragua and they refer to English things like "los Spurs", mostly because the translated forms sound completely ridiculous.

    Yuck...

If they are gonna go that route, they might as well put their last names on the back in old english font.

Sort of. "Las" is the feminine plural form of the definite article ("the"). I think it's a good fit.
