    Sore hip.....

    or so they say.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're just starting to rest the starters a bit by giving them days off, w/ only 13 games remaining.
Was thinking the same thing... except I don't think Rip would have wanted to sit out this game.

Suns lose. Can't blame Robert Horry, Ginofloppy, or any other Spurs for that one.
    Oh, it's somehow our fault

Well, it was pretty terrible near the end. Nash got 2 FTs when he was passing, which was bad; Billups got a 3-point play on an obvious charge; Shaq was hacked near the end of regulation; Amare probably got fouled by Sheed on that block; and the call on Raja Bell was ridiculous.
Nash's foul on Billups wasn't a charge, but it wasn't really a block either. Nash looked like he started falling before he actually was hit. I would have liked a no-call there but there was too much contact for a no-call. It was an either or call to me.

Shaq definitely got hacked at the end of regulation by Stuckey. They officials missed that.

Sheed did not foul Amare. Not even close.

Raja Bell probably fouled Dice but that's a call they shouldn't call considering the time and score of the game. Even though it was probably a foul, I wouldn't have minded if they held their whistles on that one.

And it looks like Flip make some sort of attempt to limit the starters minutes taking out overtime they played either less or very close to 30 minutes, except Billups.

    Thank you, Pistons!
And just like that, the Suns drop from 3rd to 5th.

With the win the Suns would have tied the Lakers for the Pacific division, thus a shot at #1. It really hurts. It's far worse than the actual 3rd to 5th fall infers. Much, much worse. They needed this to keep the pressure on the injured Lakers. Now there's a full game twixt the pair, and it may as well be two since the Lakers won the season series.

I just don't see the Suns taking the Pistons, Hornets, Spurs, or the Lakers in the playoffs this year. I hope I'm wrong. =\

You'll be amazed at how often I use the word if you do a search for it.

Jack Sprat could eat no fat. His wife could eat no lean. And so betwixt the two of them... they licked the platter clean!

Love that nursery rhyme... in no small part due to betwixt...

Wish I had a clever reason or a backstory. Somewhere along the way I picked it up and have always used it, both in type and speech. I searched and there's like 50 uses here (in three years), and another 70+ at my other main site (in four years). I wish I could search some of the old, crytic message boards I cut my chops on. The answer is probably there, but those have either upgraded or closed down by now.

Come to think of it, I believe it stemmed from those little personality profiles that occompany most message boards. For the location I'd have some variation of, "Twixt reason and madness."

I'm fairly certain that's how it became a common word for me.
