Brent is thinking about Chris Webber legacy while recuperating his recent injury..
Chris Webber might have retired, but his legacy lives on in Brent Barry.
Despite having rejoined the Spurs on Sunday after being traded to (and subsequently waived by) the SuperSonics, the veteran swingman appears to be in no hurry to play. In fact, it's becoming clearer by the day his goal is to play just enough during the regular season to get him warmed up for the playoffs -- a schedule Webber popularized the last two seasons.
"It's a complicated situation," Barry tried to explain. "It's complicated because I can't do so much that I strain anything in my calf, but I've got to get in shape, so I have to do enough."
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich certainly understands the situation. After all, Barry was reacquired for the playoffs, not for the regular season.ohhum()
"We're going slowly, making sure he's available come playoff time," the coach admitted. "I'm not sure that means he plays in a week or two weeks."
