you can get revolution, apply it properly, and be protected against fleas, ticks, and heartworms instead of spending money on both frontline and heartworm medicine.
Seriously, just put one of these on him...thats what the vet will do...then you can doctor the area with Campho phenique or neosporin and he can't lick/chew the area...

when my dog got neutered a few years ago they gave him a neck brace thing instead of a cone. i was kinda disappointed.

From what I've heard, you should NEVER use store bought flea and heartworm medication for dogs. I've read about a few dogs that have died from using it because the dosage may be to strong for them.
I used to use Revolution, but my vet switched my dog to Sentinel. I guess they were having dogs getting heartworm while on Revolution. They weren't sure if it was from the medicine or from people not applying it properly. YMMV
It's $$$ but worth it not to have my dog get any fleas along with heartworm, etc.
